I just made an appointment at a new OBGYN because my old one didn't help me and didn't even order blood work and I've been TTC for over 1.5 years. I'm 20 years old. So, I explained the problem to the lady at the new place and she got an attitude saying "Ma'am we're not a Fertility Specialist, we have OBGYN's" (something along those lines) and I said very nicely, " Oh I know, they'll need to examine me and see if they need to do tests or blood work, and if they feel I need to see a specialist they'll refer me." (because with my insurance I need referrals to see specialists) and the lady said, okay well I'll let you keep the appointment and I'll just label that you have a problem. I don't know, that was a very bad first impression for that office and I'm nervous to go. Maybe the doctors will be nice so I'll give them a try. People don't understand how sensitive this topic is and how much we have to go through!

I'm probably just being sensitive, right?

Don't necessary judge the office by the staff...seems like a lot of dr offices have really rude nurses/staff these days! That being said, go get your referral. It seems like people in RE offices have a little bit more sympathy for what you are going through. If anything, they will (hopefully) be knowledgeable enough to answer some of your concerns!

I agree with popchick. See the doctor and get your referral and move on. You might like the ob/gyn too.
