I think Nico is a lovely alternative to Nick as a nickname for Nicholas but I'm not keen in it as a stand alone name. Giving him the longer name allows him to choose what he'd like to be called as he gets older.

That sounds nice! We both like Riley (as a first or middle name)....

I like Nico Sebastian but need a middle name that still sounds nice with Nico or Nicholas.... not sure Nicholas Sebastian goes....

I like Nico Dominick but i think Nicholas Dominick is too redundant (nick-nick), iykwim

I love the name nicholas but there was an ad on for years here where this really creepyguy introduces himself as 'nico', it's an anti-smoking ad and he's meant to be nicotine so that's the association I have unfortunatly!

I actually like Nico better than Nicholas. I know of 3 right off the top of my head, 2 of which are named Nico and one which is named Nicholas but it's shortened to Nico. It's especially cute if you have an italian last name.

Nicholas was on our list of name choices. Not too keen on Nico personally, we'd have gone with the more standard Nick. Didn't end up going with it anyway, so doesn't matter now.

I went to school with a guy called Nico...his real name was Peter so I'm not sure why he became Nico.

Neko is also coincidentally my dad's cat's name so it always makes me think of felines
