I refuse to POAS. Anyone else here do that?

Hi Ladies!

First time posting, TTC#1, on cycle 8 or 9. My name is Lesli, and I'm 33.

My cycles are normal most of the time since going off the Pill in July. I've had a couple cycles where there's only been 8 or 10 days between 4-day long periods, which I suspect may have been chemical pregnancies (which makes me hopeful that everything is working with me and DH). Otherwise my cycles are 26-28 days, and we just haven't gotten lucky yet.

I have been charting, but not temping.

I haven't bought any PT because I'm afraid that once I start to POAS, I won't be able to stop. Luckily, AF has been either early or right on time. I don't know if I'd be able to resist testing if AF were ever late.

Why would you resist testing once your period is late? How else would you find out if you're pregnant?

I haven't been late yet. But a lot of people start testing 8-11days after ovulation, before AF is due to show up.

Um yes, we do that because we are desperate to know if we are UTD!

I don't see it as a bad thing at all! It is hard to not test, really really hard - especially for me as I have a somewhat unpredictable cycle and it is hard to know when AF is actually due - we're talking anywhere from 31 days to 37 and last month, it was 25 days! It's too hard sometimes to just "be patient".

Oh, no judgment here, Tuesday! I just know that if I start, I'll end up with a 3-stick-per-day habit. I don't think I can handle the extra pressure and the disappointment of a BFN.

For me, as hard as it is to see AF, I don't think that I want to know I'm not pregnant any earlier than necessary. I'm lucky that my cycles have been fairly regular since I got the BCP hormones out of my system.

Last cycle I almost gave in and bought some, but I've resisted the urge so far.

Oh I don't blame you at all! It's much easier to just get AF than to see a bunch of BFN's and then get AF anyways...in my opinion anyways. Plus I know girls who have had chemicals wait a long time to try to avoid getting their hopes up again if it's a BFP that's going to disappear soon. I've gotten much better at holding off longer at least. I've seen tons of girls on here that didn't test until they were a whole week late. The fear of seeing a negative sucks. You just do whatever works for you, darlin!
