So...I am in cycle 2 of clomid (100 mg), I also started taking wheatgrass everyday for the last week...I have gone in for scans on cd11, cd13 and cd14...and have had very little growth in the follicles (about 1.5 and 1.3, one on each side). E2 is 157. Did I just cancel out my clomid by taking wheatgrass (because it's supposed to lower FSH, and clomid actually increases FSH)? Totally mentally and emotionally kicking myself right now.
Going back for a cd15 scan/bloodwork tomorrow.

hey, I didnt want to read and run. I dont know what to say but I am really sorry if that is what happened. :hugs:

Just see what happens tomorrow and update me because I am kind of nosy and interested

I hope you are ok!

I know this is an old thread (3 months old) but your pregnant now! Hurray! I am going to start taking wheatgrass shots on Tuesday. I don't have high FSH that I know of nut I want to start taking them. The health benefits are tremendous and I figured wheatgrass should be helpful for fertility too, and since then I have been reading up on it. I found lots of positive threads about it on another forum as well. A lot of women used it to lower their fsh and it worked amd women undergoing IVF said that the wheatgrass helped. What do you think? Congrats :) Very happy for you!

I take wheatgrass...started last cycle, hopefully it will work for us. I had read lots of good things about it too. I'm taking the powder form, really gross, but I mix it with grapefruit juice and then just do a few shots a day until I get in the 8 ounces. Plus I figure mixing it with grapefruit juice might help my ewcm. who knows?? jjust trying anything at this point. Good luck and would love to know how it works for you.

I ordered mine from an organic outdoor farm in Canada. The pills and the powder will only contain a fraction of the nutrients and vitamins, enzymes and everything else that's benefical in the wheatgrass because wheat grass is live, and to break it down like that in pills and powder requires heat, and heat ruins the value of the plant. Also the reason it tastes disgusting to you is because most wheatgrass is grown indoors in trays. Its pretty much impossible to grow wheatgrass indoors without mold growing on it. Some companies wash the mold or cut above it, but that doesn't make a difference there is still slime mold. So that's what you're tasting, not the wheatgrass. Here is where I got it from. It will tell you all about a few of the things I've said and more! https://www.dynamicgreens.com/?id=Google&gclid=CM76t5rH16wCFcLAKgod-TAgqw

So, Scout, I got the wheatgrass from Dynamic greens last night. OMG it tastes WONDERFUL! I have a sweet tooth, so I would not tell you it tastes good if it didnt! It honestly tastes like green tea or watermelon rind, just as it is advertised on the site. I will never go back to regular tray grown wheatgrass again! Im hooked and I have only had 2 servings of it. It does smell like freshly cut grass, but it doesnt taste like it. When wheatgrass is in pill or powdered form it has lost all of the enzymes, but it still has the minerals but only a fraction of the vitamins. If you continue the wheatgrass I highly recommend Dynamic green! I dont think it will do much for my this cycle because I just started taking it yesterday and I got a postive OPK at about 2:00am, but I have high hopes for next cycle! It is said that when wheatgrass was fed to infertile cows that they were fertile again in less than 2 months! I hope it works for me, and even if it doesnt its still so good for you!

thanks Lala. I went back to the organic store where I got my powder and talked with them about it. It's grown outdoors on an organic farm and is minimally processed but still has a bad taste so maybe that comes with sitting on shelves too?? Idk. But I got some organic wheatgrass juice today. I haven't tried it yet, but will later. It's flash frozen in shots. They have a fresh bar too but I didn't get a shot of it today bc i was in too much of a hurry. may go by there tomorrow and get a fresh shot and see what that tastes like.

What exactly does wheatgrass do? And when should/shouldn't you take it in regards to fertility? Always interested in learning new things to help my fertility.

Sounds good Scout, you obviously did some research about wheatgrass then, because organic outdoor grown is the way to go! Hmmm I wopnder if the processing changes the taste? I don't know but I love the frozen stuff. Have you tried yours yet? Its hould taste good because its mold that makes it taste bad and since you got organic outdoor grown, mold won't be a problem! How long have you been using it? Did you decide to start taking it for overall fertility health?

Did the wheat grass end up helping you after all as I see you are due in about 40 days? I just finished my 1st round of clomid 100mg and go for my follow up on Friday to see how many follies have matured and hopefully trigger Friday night and then an IUI this Sunday. I have been taking wheat grass shots everyday (my husband owns a juice bar) as I read that it is suppose to help you. I would love some follow up info. Thank you! :)

Hi kerby,

I don't honestly know whether the wheatgrass helped me or not...I think that in the end, it was helpful for me to focus on getting healthy and focus on wellness, as I got my BFP upon going off clomid after two cycles. This LO was conceived on the first unmedicated cycle after two clomid cycles. I had started with acupuncture treatments twice a week to help with ovulation and regulating my cycles too, so that could have been helpful in the process. Hang in there and please let me know how I might be able to help you with anything.
