I'm expecting my second child in august. My first was born in March 2012 and I had her via water birth, no drugs, no stitches (she was 8lbs). I don't recall experiencing any fear leading up to the birth or during and I had what can be classed by many as an "easy" time of it.
For some unknown reason I am feeling very anxious about giving birth for a second time. I don't know why. I know that fear only makes the process worse so why can't I relax?

Because you know how sore it is? I'm more concerned this time than the first, I think ignorance was bliss first time!

Yeah it could be that. I know im a bit concerned about not getting what I want this time. First time I was ignorant and just went with the flow but had what I would now describe as perfect for me. I really want that again and I'm worried I wont.

It's like delayed fear lol. No doubt I'll be so uncomfortable by 40 weeks that I'll just want to give birth! X

I've felt the same recently. With DD1 I wasn't nervous at all and had a perfect labor/delivery. I guess I'm worried that there's no way it can possibly go as smoothly this time around!

With my 1st I was scared ! I'm petrified this time . Ignorance is defo bliss x

I'm terrified because I know now what a dump my hospital is lol !

Awww I'm not scared, more I'm just nervous this labour will be bad because my 1st was so good in my books :haha: I hated the after feeling and recovery was terrible...but the labour and delivery itself it was pretty awesome!! :D

My anxiety this time is all around AFTER birth (going for a pee, piles, having to sit on a rubber ring etc) but then I had grazes although no stitches so maybe I was more sore than you.

I also worry about looking after my 22 month old along with a new baby and the sleepless nights so I think once you've had 1, its not so much the labour, but the first few months with LO at home that is scary?
