It happened so fast I am still surprised that he's here. December 2nd at 11:13am. 6lbs 13oz and 19inches long!
All last night I had been tossing and turning. I kept thinking when I would wake up that I was having contractions but I was able to go back to sleep so I didn't think much of it. I ended up waking up pretty well around 5am and was researching when and where their waters broke. Around 5:25am I felt a large pop and since no fluids were coming out I decided to shut my eyes. I had a sudden urge to pee and as soon as I stood up there it went... for a good 5 minutes my water was gushing from me as I stood in the doorway trying to wake OH up.
We get to the hospital around 6:25am and since I was laying in a pool of my own fluid they decided to admit me. At 7:15am I was dilated to a 3 and 90% effaced. I was having pretty bad contractions by then and so when they moved me to my L&D room the nurse gave me morphine and made sure my blood work was getting processed quickly. I got my epidural at 8:35am and they checked me again at 9am, I was 6-7cm dilated and fully effaced.
The nurse said she was going to check me again in an hour unless I had some sudden urge to push, which I didn't. She checked me again at 10am and I was at a 9. They then had the hospital delivery doctor come in just incase my doctor didn't show up in time. I started pushing at 10:30am. It was hard because I couldn't feel anything from the epidural and didn't know where to push from because I couldn't feel it.
45 minutes later he was here. Everyone was still so surprised that I was in labor for less than 6 hours, I am still shocked!! He is absolutely perfect in every way! Now to just get the hang of breastfeeding and everything will be great!!
