Is yours worse or better since pg? Mine wasn't too bad up til now, but the last week it's gotten worse. Constantly bloated, pain, cramping, alternating diarrhea and constipation. :( was hoping I might escape it getting too bad. Is anything helping?

I have IBS as well(plus I had my gallbladder removed in March) For me, it has gotten worse, but I don't have constipation at all, just diarrhea. Luckily I'm a stay at home mom, so I'm always close to a bathroom. I try to avoid foods that I know will trigger it, if at all possible. If it gets too bad on a certain day, I will take medication for it. Otherwise, I just deal with it.
It actually may be why I've been fluctuating in my weight so far. I'm just about where I was pre-pregnancy. I will lose a couple pounds one week, and then gain it back over the next.
I had asked my OB about the diarrhea, as I worried about not absorbing enough nutrients, but he didn't seem too concerned. He said we will just keep an eye on my weight. If I start to lose and not gain at all, then we will do something about it.

I have acute ibs and it seems better but I always had constipation but now it is slightly less then it was

No exaggeration, two visits to a chiropractor has all but cured the most extremes I was having with my IBS. Although it's far from perfect, I am beyond grateful that the extreme pain and discomfort I was having from both being too constipated and having excruciating bouts of diarrhea are GONE.

It's been more than a month now I've been able to go without my meds (aside from Rolaids to help with occasional bloating), and for the first time in my life I've been able to go normally and regularly.

I can't recommend it enough.

I have ibs and had my gall bladder removed recently, the first trimester was AWFUL, I had diarrhea so badly every single day, it did get better though, I have little incidents every now and then but usually only when I eat something I shouldn't have.

With my first pregnancy it got so much better and I was going so regularly, like clockwork and it was awesome lol. With this pregnancy it's been the opposite and it's been awful! But one thing I've learned over the last few years is that cutting out overly processed foods, dairy, and cutting back on grains has really helped. If I eat lots of meats, fruits, and veggies it seems to really get my digestive system back in order. I don't know if it's a gluten intolerance, diary sensitivity, or what but I'm sure it has something to do with that.

this is my 3rd preg. My ibs flaired early on in first 2 pregs tht i got early scans at 7-9 weeks incase ectopic both times pain was diff than my norm ibs pains etc hence goin gp. This preg neen fine cramps started last week or so an ive had odd sore twindge(sharpish) in the last month nothing that made me curl up or cry thank god.

Thanks everyone. I'm def going to have to adjust my diet. Some foods that normally aren't triggers have suddenly become ones. Just going have to do do trial and error. It's a little better today.

Messica, I might have to try the chiro. I have one, but haven't been in a really long time.

I'd never been to one and actually went only after prodding from my OB to hopefully find some relief for my SPD.

As she was feeling her way down my back she stopped at a tiny knot she found about half way, just to the right of my spine that sent me through the ceiling. I knew it was there. I've always asked hubs to leave it be when he's rubbing my back. Always feels a combination of nasty pressure/pain and squirmy ticklish. She immediately inquired if I had problems with chronic constipation/diarrhea/IBS. I had no idea my BACK could indicate such a problem but yeah, she asked if it was ok for her to gently rub it out. She said that, combined with a hip adjustment and evening out the lengths of my legs should help. I was skeptical but I've been going (not too hard, too soft and with no pain) twice a day since. I can't ever remember a time in my life I was able to do that and it feels AWESOME lol
