So last night i was in a lot of pain and put an icy hot patch on my calf and my low back afterwards i noticed that package said if pregnant or nursing consult your doctor before using. has anyone talked with their doctors about them or know why they could possibly be considered unsafe for pregnancy?

i think the skin irritation is the concern. I've allways had lower back problems and I still apply bio-freeze to my back from time to time. My Chiropractor (who is VERY knowledgeable about prenatal paitents) has said it's ok.

If you're unsure just give your doc a ring.

I have had lower back pain and my doctor told me it was okay to use a heating pad...just not to put it anywhere near my tummy. As for Icyhot, I'm not sure about that...could you use a heating pad instead so that nothing was being absorbed into your body?

ive used it on my calves because it seems to help with the restless legs at night to help me sleep a little better
