So normally I feel great but today when I was eating my lunch I started to get a fairly bad pain at the top of my tummy. It was quite centralized and the more I ate the more it hurt (I was eating a simple sandwitch) so I stopped eating. This didn't seem to ease the pain in fact it just kept getting worse. It got that bad that the pain made me all sweaty and when it got really bad I was heaving over the toilet. I would say this lasted for a hour but then started to fade. there has been a dull ache all afternoon. I decided to have some tea (cheese on toast) and the pain has come back. Its not as bad but it really hurts.

I actually thought it might be gas because I have burped a few times but I don't see why eating food would make it hurt so severely. Taking a deep breath causes pain (not a lot of pain but its uncomfortable) as does bending forward.

I spoke to a MW this afternoon as I was in such pain and she didn't seem worried at all.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any ideas?

I'm not sure, but ever since the end of 1st tri, I can't eat ice cream without being in excruciating pain, like horrible stomach cramps that make me want to cry. But it won't happen for several hours after I eat the ice cream. I figure baby has given me some sort of dairy intolerance, and the pain is caused by my body struggling to digest it. Has this ever happened to you before?

The pain comes as soon as I eat or drink (with in seconds) and lasts for ages. Its never gone it just eases off so its not as severe.

I've never had anything like this before and I cant seem to find anything on google. I don't think its anything overly bad it just hurts.

Quick question. Have you ever had gallbladder issues! Or anyone in your family had it removed? Your gallbladder is located behind the liver, if you are having a gallbladder attack you could feel the pain centrally and it may radiate to the right side. Thus attack would be caused by gallstones. And having the pain when you eat is a sign of gallstones blocking the bile duct in your gallbladder. You may want to call the doc so they can do an ultrasound of your gallbladder.

And have you eaten any fatty foods today? Fatty foods can irritate the gallbladder if You have gallstones. I had this issue about two years ago with a severe kidney infection and was rushed to emergency surgery. I don't want to freak you out but what you describe is the same thing I was going through with my gallbladder infection.
