hey everyone
I'm on my phone I'm so please excuse the errors
I went in for my 16 week scan and the baby wouldn't move much so that we couldnt even come close to telling the gender
I drank a coca-cola on the way to the appointment about half an hour before, so why was the baby not moving much
I have a 3d at 19 weeks n are also going to look at gender
ideas what to eat or drink to get baby moving

People say orange juice or coffee will work. Nothing has ever worked for me except occasionally cold water and mandarin oranges (weird).

I had 2 scans in a row where my LO wouldn't move for ANYTHING. Eventually I figured out that she didn't like to move if I was moving - so when I was still and relaxed for a while she would go nutty. So for the last 2 scans I've shown up about half an hour early and been very still and quiet before the scan and viola... she's has herself a dancing party :D

I've tried allsorts, was disappointed at my scans as baby was completely still, probably asleep. The only thing that seems to work for me is also laying very still, baby goes crazy when I'm in bed. I have a 4D scan next week so I could do with showing up half an hour early and laying on the bed! :)

That's weird, my sonographer told me drink some lucozade about 5 mins before I went in and the baby was bouncing around like mad! But I would have thought that would work with the coke? See when your little one is most active, if its when you are resting then like the other ladies said maybe get there a bit early and just relax and hopefully they will wake up!

Is cola meant to work? Is it the caffeine? Really want to feel baby move, didn't realise there were ways to make them move!

I've been told to drink lucozade and eat a chocolate bar an hour before my 4D scan, but I did similar before my 12 and 20 week scans and baby was still sleeping! Sugar/caffeine etc might make them more hyper if they're awake, but it doesn't seem to wake them up if sleeping

I find the poking and prodding of the ultrasound makes mine move.. Like it gets sick of it and tries to shrug it off..
But it then goes back to sleep.. I've only had one scan where baby has been waving a kicking and rolling, then it went back to sleep like usual lol

I find sugary cereal does wonders! Maybe a bowl of Frosted Flakes with cold milk will get baby movin'!

Up until recently, NOTHING worked for my little guy if I wanted him to move. However, he hates ultrasounds and dopplers to check his heart beat. He moves around like crazy when they try picking anything up. But lately I notice ice water or chocolate does the trick.

But if I want him to stop kicking? Apparently all I have to do is try to feel his kicks from the outside with my hand and he immediately stops.

:haha: I know, right! They are such little boogers! Boys, right? :dohh:

Yep! But the second I lay down TO go to sleep, he starts kicking like crazy again! Just like his father  :haha: I'm screwed :dohh:

I wsh I had the issue of a quiet baby during an ultrasound, my last 3 she would not sit still at all, was doing a jig each and everytime!! My ultrasounds have each lasted 45 minutes over an hour each time because we had to wait for her to slow down enough to get the needed measurements. But my sister would use cold water or a cold glass of milk to get her kids going when pregnant. Last night I had tacos for dinner and that seemed to work... lol Good luck!! :)

I've tried everything to get these two moving. I've felt movement once for sure, but nothing since (except for once when I poked my side since I thought one was laying on a nerve and when I poked it there was a sudden spike in the nerve, I think I upset one of them :haha:) I keep thinking they're kicking each other instead of me! :haha:
