If someone is banned

can you still find their old profile in the member search if you want to find a thread?

I don't know if it gets deleted or if I just have the wrong spelling or something.

You can't view profiles of banned members but you can search for their posts, or threads they've started using the advanced search as long as they haven't been deleted x

Banned members have their profile locked. Having said that there other reasons that you may not be able to find a profile (EG. Username change or Account was closed at users request).
