IF you get a BFP, having had a loss, would you wait to announce?

I'm just wondering what other people's perspectives are on this. When I got pregnant with V, I only told my immediate family (and the family that I chose - we 'adopted' my big sister as an adult) at first, was trying to wait until the second trimester to tell anyone else, but when I lost V at 7w2d it was actually harder to be around people who didn't know anything because I felt like they didn't understand what I was going through and like I couldn't talk about it. So I'm considering announcing earlier (maybe after a scan, after my mc the doc said they would get me in right away to rule out a CP or anything like that) because then even if it turns bad news, at least the people around me will know what I'm going through... and I can have those happy days in the meanwhile. I know a lot of people who have mc have chosen to wait until the second trimester to announce in case it happens again, but I just feel like that would actually be harder for me. Anyone in the same boat? When would you announce, and to whom?

I Miscarried right at about 5 weeks this past November 10th. I had only told my hubby my bestie and a couple of friends at work. It was harder telling my family and my loved ones that yes I had been pregnant but I was in the middle of miscarrying it. At the end of November I starting getting pregnancy symptoms and really thought nothing of it. Then by the time December 7th hit and I had missed my cycle and the symptoms magnified I decided to test. I received a BFP. My levels are great and my first ultrasound is December 26th. I def. plan on telling my family for a Christmas present. So Its still kind of early but I find that its easier to go ahead and tell than it is to keep it a secret.

Everytime I get pg (i have had 4 pregnancies so far) I have told immediate family. Even though 3 out of 4 of my pregnancies have ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks. When I was pg with DS I told my closest friend at about 10 weeks. But I didn't tell other friends until after my first scan. Some of my work colleagues didn't know until i could no longer hide it! I think its a very personal thing when you want to announce. Anybody that I wanted to support me knew I was pg but for me I was glad not everyone knew. I didn't feel shame or embarrassed but talking and socialising with people who had know idea, made me feel like I was still the person I was before my losses, and I could almost escape from it. I know some people though find this very isolating. I think if you want to tell people go ahead and announce.

Well, I'm not PG this time, so next cycle if successful would be around mid Jan.... Omg I bet Pinterest is full of cute "having a baby" valentine ideas
