If you know the gender, were the old wives tales etc true for you?

Just interested to see if anyone here has the classic "girl symptoms/boy symptoms"?

I seem to get the opposite symptoms! With my son I had awful sickness up till 30wks, I craved sweet things like ice cream and chocolate and was totally off meat, and my skin was dreadful the whole time.

This time we're having a little girl and my sickness has been waning since 16wks, my skin is normal and I'm craving ham sandwiches and pizza!!

Interested to see if the old wives tales are actually true for anyone

Yes, both times! My first was a typical 'boy' pregnancy. Barely any problems, no sickness, only wanted savoury things, even carried the opposite to this time. This time it's a girl and I've had a complete 'girl' pregnancy. Still being sick now!

No. Not one. But. I had this boy feeling from the beginning. I was convinced. Eve when everyone else was sure little man was a girl. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the old wives tales because I felt like I knew. The nineteen week ultrasound was more of a confirmation. The first thing my husband said was that I was right.

They were for me! I don't know the gender of the current baby (#3) but I have both a boy and a girl already. For both, the 'chinese gender predictor' was right, the heartbeat (below 150 for a boy, above for a girl), the sweet cravings with a girl and horrible acne, etc, etc... I had sickness with both.

Based purely on my symptoms (and mommy intuition) this time I'm guessing we're having another boy. But we're planning to stay team yellow for a change so I'll have to wait a while to find out!

The only one that was true for me was I didn't have morning Sickness and I'm having a boy

They were true for me I just had a girl and I had sickness, craved sweet things which is unusual as I always been a savoury eater, I got spots, my weight went everywhere on me, the Chinese gender predictor said girl, the heartbeat was over 150 and I just had this little feeling she was a girl

The only thing that made me have a tiny doubt about having a girl was when I craved salt and vinegar Crisps and cheese string but that was it

Not for me really although i did carry very low with my 1st baby which is true for boys wives tale.

Chinese gender calendar was correct and I had rubbish morning sickness. However, my skin is fine and I mostly craved savoury foods throughout first trimester. Having a girl!

I basically had a feeling from the beginning this baby was a boy. I'm also carrying low but this is my second pregnancy. With my DD I put on 5 stone and this pregnancy I've not put on anything but then again this time I work out/eat healthy as opposed to be the complete opposite last time but that's down to lifestyle changes not pregnancy related.

For this pregnancy it's been half true. I was pretty sick in the first tri, but my normally crappy skin has actually cleared up. I have a little girl in here. As far as the "tests", I only did the baking soda one and it said girl at both 5 weeks and 10 weeks. Oh and the chinese gender predictor was right for me too.

I have two older kids, one of each, and those were very just like the old wives tales. Boy was super easy, wanted tacos and spicier food. Girl I was really nauseous in the beginning and wanted sweets!

From what I've seen other people post, it seems that the morning sickness theory is the closest to being anywhere near "accurate", but of course, just like anything, there's always exceptions to the rule

Wow that's really interesting! Lots of people do seem to at least get some of the old wives tales being true for them. Maybe they aren't all just made up rubbish after all!
I guess there are always exceptions to every rule!

We just found out we're having a girl, and I have had almost ZERO pregnancy symptoms at all. I haven't been sick, and my skin has actually improved over the past few months. Her heart rate is in the low 140s or high 130s, and she's pretty low.

So, no! None of the old wives tales seem to be true for me.

I havent been sick with either pregnancy but with this one the gender prediction test was right, the baking soda test was right and the 'fish hook' eye test was right. Craving sweet again this time (same as dd but I have a massive sweet tooth anyway) and carrying smaller and lower - put on stone and a half whereas put on three and half with dd! Forgot to say, am team blue! x

Two DS's and opposite pregnancies.. DS1 carried wide, bad skin, never sick but felt it a bit. DS2 carried more out front, good skin and severly sick (HG)
Not sure what happened there!

Totally correct for me.

Starting out, no morning sickness, my usual acne prone skin cleared up, and my hair has never looked better or shinier.

Now, Carrying very low, HR stays around 150, and craving all the savory/Meat and Potato kind of foods.
