I should start this thread off by saying that it hasn't been a full year yet that we have been trying to conceive, but it does take 2-3 months (unless you're pregnant) to get in to see a doc where I live, so I am looking for opinions now so that I can make an app and maybe have an idea what I should be asking.

A little about me.. I'm 30, DH is 37, we have been ttc since Jan of 2012, had a BFP in July, and it was confirmed in Aug that I had a molar pregnancy. The doc had said not to worry because it was caught early, and that we could wait a cycle and start ttc again. Prior to BFP, my O date was typically CD 14 or 15, and my cycle length was 26-27 days. After, my first cycle was 37 days, then 35, then 34, I'm now on CD2 of my fourth cycle. Didn't O the first cycle and not sure about the second, my OPK's came to "almost" positive, but then didn't quite get there. Last cycle I had two very positive opk's two days in a row. Got my hopes up of course, and ended up starting to spot 10 DPO and AF arrived on Friday.

SO..if you were me, what would you do? What questions should I be taking to the doc when I get in for an app? Any advice would be greatly appreciated ladies, I've felt very alone these last few months and I am very afraid to go in the doctors office only to have them tell me that we just need to keep trying.

Good luck and don't feel alone! There is a good chance they'll tell you to wait awhile. Once it's been more than a year blood tests for you & your hubby along with a sperm test for him should be next. If everything looks normal then you'll probably be put on clomid to regulate your ovulation. Hopefully that's all it takes and you'll get another BFP!

I would personally start temping to make sure I am ovulating and take those charts to the doctor's

I do temp, and have been since January. Guess I forgot to mention earlier! It was actually how I knew I was pregnant in the first place. My temps prior to the pregnancy were like clockwork, and when it had stayed high the days leading up to AF I had a gut feeling. Then when AF was due, my temp was still high. Lately they have been all over the place and FF had difficulty giving me an O date, it would give it then take it away, last cycle was the only one where it put it up and then it stayed for the btw. Thanks so much ladies for all of your help!

We started trying July 2011, by May 2012 I went for a pap with my gyno and since I was there I expressed my concerns about not getting pregnant. She then decided to send me to a RE. And from there I had a Hysterscopy, tried naturally a couple months and then currently on my third IUI cycle. Everyone is unique and you never know what the doctor will say. My gyno saw nothing wrong with me and didn't want to just put me on clomid because it has effects like depleting the uterine lining and it can do something to your cervical mucus. I actually opted to do clomid twice when I went to see my RE. And I'm 26 and hubby is 41 and he has two healthy kids from a previous marriage. They say if you are under 35 & trying for a year it's considered infertility and go see a RE
And if you are over 35 it's 6 months... Hope this helps. My sister in law years ago went straight to the dr said she did not want to wait and play around and he put her on clomid right away, before trying for a year. Hope this helps?

I can't tell you to do what i did and you're also much younger than i but i temped before we started trying and knew there was something wrong. I lied to the doc and told her we'd been trying for a year. It was still a 3 month wait to get into the clinic and then 2 months before they got the tests done & prescriptions out but it was worth all of my deception (i dis feel horrible lying but i felt it was a necessary evil since we'd left having kids for so long). It's almost a year later from being referred to the clinic and i'm still not pregnant. The most important thing to me is that i know what's wrong with me. It's me not him ( he has amazing SA on a number of tests) and we have a plan (on the ivf waitlist). So you do what's right for you and keep in mind it's not often a speedy process even if you do get into a fc.
