Hi all
I've just joined this AMAZING forum. There is such a wealth of knowledge, I'm not sure where to start.

I just turned 49 and have been trying to conceive for a few years now with my partner. He's 38 soon to be 39.

I just had my first IVF/ICSI cycle cancelled as no follicles were produced. We're in Australia and it appears access to fertility help is good here but I haven't sussed out everything yet.

However being on the cycle has left me with so many questions. The Puregon I was on just seemed to lower my feelings of 'sexiness'. I'm not sure if that's the best way to describe it. Usually our love life is pretty terrific but maybe its the thought of having to try so hard to get pregnant that it became a little different...anyway I digress.

So we're on a break for now, (looking forward to our holiday) and I want to know about using pre-seed and softcups and exactly how you use them. I want to incorporate this into our lifestyle changes before we attempt IVF/ICSI in full next time.

Any tips, ideas would be be appreciated.

Are there any other ladies that are 49 or over trying for their first child with own eggs?

Hi all
I want to know about using pre-seed and softcups and exactly how you use

I am new to this forum as well and am so glad I found it too. We have two children and are trying for a third one. All of my children I used Clomid but on 50 mg. My OB just pushed me up to 100 mg. My progesterone level is very low and I still don't understand why he won't supplement them with pills or shots, etc. I am debating if I should just go to a fertility specialist since time is of the essence.

So being that I a new I find a lot of the terminology here a bit confusing for me. What is "pre-seed and sofe-cups"? This is new territory for me since I pretty much was able to get pregnant within 6 months both times. Now that I am "more seasoned" :winkwink: (never say old) it's taking a bit longer.

Good luck to you. Hopefully we can all get preggos. I can't wait. I love being pregnant and have been told I do it very well. It's just a magical time for woman.

Baby dust to all...........

Just did a quick research @ pre-seed never knew about it. All these things you learn even after two babies.... :) I don't think that is available here in the U.S. My googling is coming up with UK sites.. It can be also I never really looked for it too. I will have to take a ride to my pharmacy and see if they have it.

I got preseed at CVS and Softcups. Preseed is also available at Riteaid or online at any drugstore.com.

wow you actually got medical assistance in Australia?! Maybe I should move up to Sydney then. In Tassie the help stops at 43. Unless of course you have no children then they offer you donor embryo or donor eggs. So I am 48 and currently on an enforced ttc break due to health reasons but in a few months time we'll be allowed to try again albeit, it will have to be naturally with no help.
I only take vitex and folic acid for TTC but at the moment I have had bak surgery so i am on norscopan patches, lyrica, oxazepam (sleep) and valium oh and endep. Quite a cocktail so I spend more time asleep than awake. so many things I am not allowed to do so now we have to go through legal advice to get compensation from the car accident (not our fault) that caused my back problems.

anyhow off the sunject there lol... have you tried vitex? On ebay too there is a site foovulation, pregnancy and fertility testing, lets you see how close you may be to the big dreaded M wrd. Look up fertility tests and you should find it. according to teh test I got no line at all so I am no where near menopause, if you get a line you have an FSH of over 10 and if it is darker than the control line it is FSH over 25 so menopausal. Very cheap too. worth looking into.

Good luck and I hope you conceive your miracle blessing :)

Welcome. :flower: Can't help with soft cups or preseed but I am 46, been TTC for 4 years, no children. Will be looking at IVF this year, not sure whether my eggs or donor eggs, depends on AMH results and what the fertility clinic says on Monday.

There is a great thread on here - hope you will join us. :flower:

hello! I'm glad to hear I am not alone. At 48 in a couple weeks and TTC my second, a sibling for my six year old DD, i sometimes feel very foolish or tragically optimistic...but My fertility doctor has said that as long as You are ovulating then the possibility of a healthy pregnancy exists. My primary says she sees women in their late 40's a couple times a year. So it happens!

I recommend ubiquinol daily if you are not already and at least 200 mgs. One research study that looks promising had the women taking 1200 mgs daily. The idea makes sense to me because the ubiquinol may assist your body at the mitochondrial level and so may give your eggs the energy required to develop.
