Well after taking a break from the forums and ttc, I'm back. We are into our rounds of doctor appointments now with the fertility docs. DH is fine, I have a blocked tube (after a super painful HSG where she determined and unsuccessfully tried to unblock).
Basically she says our best shot with my age, his age and that complication is IVF which gives us a 35% chance. I think that was a WHOAH to DH. He's been convinced that everything is fine and we have forever, b/c he's a guy and I swear just doesn't get it.
She wants to schedule me for an ultrasound this cycle to see if she can see which side I'm ovulating on (left is blocked) and how the quality of the right side looks. She said opening up the tube laparoscopically is an option, but might not be the best option for me. She said she could open it, we could try for months and months and still not see results. At the same time she can see with a scope if there is any scar tissue on the right side stopping implantation.
Ugh so many decisions, I want to go right to IVF, but of course our insurance doesn't cover it. There is supplemental we can buy that will (because we are in Mass), so I'm hoping to get all that info too!
What to do, what to do!
