Firstly apologies for the self pitying to follow!!

I've had a really bad few days...I've got a nasty pain that feels like groin sprain just at the top of my left leg, and it's been getting worse and more round the front of my groin. It hurts when I climb stairs, walk, or stand on that leg for any amount of time, especially if I've been sitting still for a while or have just got up in the morning. Am terrified that it's SPD, and don't know who is best to ring, midwife or GP??

To top it all off, half of one of my back teeth just broke off, and I'm not registered with a dentist round here yet...and finding an NHS one without a 6 month waiting list is a nightmare!! I don't know what to do, as I can't afford private dentist charges :(

Guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself and needed a rant!!

You're entitled to a whinge Hunni :) I don't really have much advice just thought I'd drop you a virtual hug! :hugs: re the SPD perhaps you could call your mw and ask whether it's best to see her or gp and dentist wise I know in our area we have an emergency dentist that you can see at the hospital I think you can contact them via nhs direct or surely a local dentist could give u some advice.hope you're feeling better soon x

Thanks Emma...I'll give both the midwife and the dentist a ring in the morning. Just had a good cry all over my OH and feel a bit better now!!

I'm sure when little dude arrives it will all be worth it :)

Must be a pregnancy thing cos I've also broken a tooth, then the filling fell out, luckily its not too painful. If you are in pain use dissolvable paracetamol, works wonders on toothache, swirl it round the affected area and then swollow.

I've also got groin/pelvic pain, have been experiencing it since I was about 20 weeks on and off, so so painful at times. MW said it was stretching pain, not sure its entirely true.

Whinge away, but yeh def get it checked out, its obviously causing you alot of discomfort, so hopefully they can do something to ease it. Fingers crossed its not SPD, I worried mine was but apparently not. Phew!!

Broken tooth here too, I have had one mangled tooth for every pregnancy so far, bizarrely the dentist ALWAYS tells me it is nothing to do with pregnancy, so why do we get free dental treatment during pregnancy? confoooosed.

Anyways, sorry you're having a crappy time, I hope you're feeling better soon, big hugs xx

omg you sound just like me!

my groin pain is, well, painful but not as painful as my sciatica and lower back pain. I've tried to cut down on stairs - we have a lift at work which is a godsend! but I still have stairs at home to get up to our flat. I told the midwife who has referred me to physio. need to make an appointment now though.

as for dentist I registered with an NHS dentist shortly after my back tooth broke in half but havent made an appointment yet as I feel kinda guilty having so much time off work already for midwife, antenatal and scan appointments. I've only got 4 weeks left at work so gonna stick it out and make an appointment then. Dont forget you are exempt from paying NHS treatment for a year after birth too so make an appointment when you can, if you are in pain then register and get an emergency appointment - ull still be exempt but will be seen quicker :flower:
