Hi, this is my first pregnancy and I'm just a little worried about my growing belly.. I'm currently at 15 weeks. Started out 25 inches around but now I'm 37? My friends who have had kids too tell me that I'm a little large for 15 weeks. Should I be concerned? I haven't been increasing the intake in my diet or anything! Please help!

I wouldn't worry about it. Every woman and pregnancy is different. Some woman carry all out front and others carry next to nothing and you wonder if there really is a baby there haha

As long as you're healthy there's nothing to worry about :)

thanks for the advice! Heading to the docs tomorrow to get it checked out though :)

I too feel like I am too big for my stage (23 weeks, not sure of my bump measurement though). Had my 22 week appointment with my midwife and she skipped around my fundal hight, but did mention that it was likely to be bigger as I am a larger lady (bmi 32). I'm still a bit concerned though because the bump is huge and all hard, not any fat around it, and pretty high up. So either I am going to have a huge baby (last one was 9lbs 9!) or I am just carrying really high. It feels like my stomach and organs are all squished up the top! Trying not to worry about it too much but must admit it is playing on my mind at times.

If you're baby is measuring well it's probably just how your bump is sitting and really no cause for concern.
Gestational diabetes will make baby grow larger than it regularly would but that test doesn't usually come until you're 6 months out. Just ensure you're eating well - not too many carbs or sugary foods, lots and lots of veg & clean protein, some fruit for desert. Carbs like rice, noodles, bread spike insulin and if you're already insulin resistant or a higher BMI you may have a harder time dealing with the sugar load. It also causes inflammation which isn't great for baby and can cause you swelling limbs too. Hang on for those tests, I'm off to do my GD tonight (yuk!) Hopefully it's just a healthy happy baby in there xx

I'm all baby. I didn't start showing significantly until I was like 25 weeks. I could hide it under sweaters still! My doctor even commented that I was super tiny for 32 weeks, but that my fundal height measurements are right where they should be. I wouldn't be too concerned if your doctors aren't concerned. I have friends who are months behind me in their pregnancy but they showed much quicker than I did at a certain stage. I'm also tall and on the the thinner side, so I think that makes a difference.

Im 16 weeks today! I've actually grown from 25 to 38.5 inches around. Now I just look like a stick with a ball stuck in the middle ):

Thanks all for your replies! I just got measured today (though i feel its quite early) and my fundal height at 16 weeks is 25cm! I'm currently waiting for the scan to be ready, time to see what's in there!

My first two pregnancies I always carried on the bigger size and they did always measure ahead. This one I feel smaller. So every pregnancy and person truly is different. I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for all your concern! Turns out, it was a big concern.. I'm having triplets!

Wow! Were they conceived naturally? That is absolutely amazing. Congratulations!

Well it all makes sense now! Awesome, congratulations. 👣👣👣

Thanks everybody! I wish you all good luck with your pregnancies too :flower:
