Hi Girls!

I just signed up today.. I'm Ashley, I'm 29! need some help. I have been TTC #1 since September of this year (which I know has only been 2 months and I shouldn't worry)... Even so, I AM worried. I am just wondering if you guys can help me by telling me if I am doing anything wrong.

First month= used OPKS, got a smiley on day 17 and BD that night and we had 2 days before that and no more. First month- BFN and I was devastated..

I then was determined to do everything I could the second month. I ordered Fertilaid for Men and made my husband take them and a multi. I started taking Fertile-CM (TERRIBLE!!!! DID NOT WORK), I drank Green Tea everyday, and used alkalizing PH drops in my water, I also have been taking Prenatals since August.

Second Month= we BD days 14, 15, 16, 17, & 18 ... got a smiley on day 17. Right now I am 10dpo and no symptoms and many BFN's.

I have a 10-11 day LP and have been taking b-6 and started progesterone cream this cycle ( I know I'm crazy ;)

Anything that you guys see that we are doing wrong?? Also, I heard that saliva isn't the best for sperm but have not stopped oral before BDing...

Thanks in advance for your help =) =)

Hey Ashley sounds like we are in similar boat! Hubby and I are trying to conceive number one as well.... First month I was super naive just thought we would get pregnant, so def a learning curve!!
Sounds like you are doing a ton! Are you tracking cm?? And using an app?? I know opk r pricey so trying to stay away from them so far! I am taking prenatal as well... I am 1dpo hoping this is our month!! Good luck :)

Hey, it can take up to a year to ttc if you both are healthy. You only have a 20% chance of conceiving every month. Is there a reason that you are adding the progesterone cream? You may not need it so I maybe wouldn't add anything just yet. Your bd schedule seems on point. Maybe if no bfp this month buy tge advanced clear blue digi opk. It gives you a little more time before your lh is detected. You can bd every other day until you get a flashing smiley then every day up to the day after your solid smiley. That gives your dhs swimmers some time to build up. Keep taking the vitamins, even if there are no problems, it will make your baby and body healthier. Just hang in there. It takes time! And if it hasn't happened in a year then maybe go get a check up! GL!

Have you had a sperm analysis done for your hubby? If his analysis is poor/low, it's actually better to only BD every other day rather than every day. My hubby hasn't even had one done and my gyno still told me it was better to only BD every other day. So if you can pinpoint your expected O date, maybe try that next month. Try to time it out so you BD on the day of O and every other day during the five days leading up. Just something to consider. ;)

Also, have you had blood work done on your thyroid? My LP is about the same as yours and I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which apparently is likely to blame for my not conceiving yet. It turns out it's a common barrier to pregnancy (until treated) and it's actually advised all women get their thyroid checked when they start TTC. I suggest this since you're already treating with B6 and progesterone, but if you have a shorter LP you might want to talk to your doc to make sure you know what's responsible (if anything...could just be normal for you!).

Good luck, you've got a LOT of ladies on this journey with you. :)

thanks everyone! support is the BEST thing through all of this. Sadly, AF started today :(

That means I had a 10 day LP... I am going to take your advice and call my doctor.

The b6 and progesterone cream did nothing to extend it this cycle. Has anyone tried Vitex?

Im on vitex right now. This is my first cycle taking it. Im really hoping that it helps. I have really crazy cycles and the only thing that helped was letrozole. I have low progesterone. Dh and I are trying on our own for a while. We have had 2 years with a re and 3 unsuccessful iuis. So our next step after the vitex is ivf. Hopefully we don't have to take that step. February will be 5 years :(

DH and I are in the exact same position Ashley25. We have been "actively trying" the last three cycles, and so far nothing.

DH and I had a serious talk the other night. We're about to go into our fourth cycle TTC #1, and I've been "baby crazy". With each passing cycle, I was feeling more and more discouraged and frustrated. DH and I talk about maintaining a healthy relationship while on this crazy journey. Sex can easily become a chore and that could lead to some resentment. The more stress you put on yourself (and partner) to conceive, the less enjoyable this whole process becomes.

We agreed that if we're still unsuccessful by our 6th cycle of TTC, we will talk to our family doctor. Then by one-year if we're still successful, a fertility doctor.

I'm not taking any pills, creams or teas. I'm only using OPKs and tracking my cycle. If it happens, it happens. But at least DH and I have a "plan" if things don't happen after a few more months of trying.

I know the desire to be a mom. I desperately want to be a mother! But I cannot force or rush it. It will happen in time, and if it doesn't, we will consult doctors.

Best of luck Ashley! We're in this together!

froggyfrog... I have read good things about vitex, I'm hoping that will help you a lot! update on your progress with it!!

Hope.. I completely agree with you about maintaining a healthy relationship and not making sex a chore. You have a great attitude about everything. I have been so obsessed with tracking symptoms and timing sex. I try not to let my husband see that side too much, although there was one time he was 'tired' during the fertile window and I started crying. oh well!! like you said, we are all in this together!!

This past cycle DH and I only DTD twice - we had conflicting work commitments. Anyway, I was so disappointed I bursted into tears and freaked out. I want to be a mom SO bad and I felt we weren't' trying hard enough. I still symptom spot like crazy. I'm currently in the TWW and I'm 90% sure this isn't our cycle.

Just be kind to yourself Ashley. :winkwink:

Ashley, I am going though the exact same thing. Just about to start my 3rd cycle of trying. I made my dh make a drs appt for a sperm analysis next week. I'm a little impatient. Lol. I'm going to start temping this next cycle and tracking cm. I never imagined getting pregnant would be so much work!

I saw this thread and felt like I should chime in. I am turning 30 in 13 days and I am in my 4th or 5th month of TTC (not sure, we started in July ....). I am in the same boat as most of you where I really want to be a mom and there are times when I feel like we are not doing everything we can. Some of my cycles, we only dtd twice and it was way before I saw any EWCM or way after, so I knew going into it I was not going to get success from those months. That said, for those of you who say they have short leutal phases, how do you know? I typically count my leutal phase from the first and last date that I see EWCM ( I typically only notice it for about 3 days) so I have a 3 day time span and almost always, my af starts 14 days from my last noticeable day of EWCM. I will say I get brown spotting for 3 days before my af and for 1 day after and I do pass larger clots (sorry if TMI), but I am curious, how did you all know that something was wrong??? and for the original poster as well as those of you who are putting time limits, try not to. Its hard to do, but I have noticed that once I started really realizing it may take some time, my husband started enjoying me again and is more agreeable to having sex in the time I need him to have sex. Let it go and see what happens. I would say if one year is probably when you should worry, but the more you worry now, the weirder your cycles are going to be and the longer it will take as stress can postpone ovulation. I wish you all luck and I hope we all have our BFPs soon.
