So this is my rant about mil. She came for a visit a few weeks ago and then my baby was about a week old. My baby boy always wanted feeding every 1-2 hours and we spend about 30 min on each feed and she kept saying was feeding him too much and he was not hungry bla bla bla....
now my baby start to slow down a bit on feeding, he only spend 5-10 min on each feed but still every 1-2 hours. he's 7 weeks old now and in the first month he out on 1.8 kg ( seem a lot but he's not fat, lol).
Every night he always have problem with sleeping and we just realize that it's the air-con we use in the bedroom that upsets him, he prefers the fan ( we went back to my mom's last week and he was happy there with fresh air and fan at night)
...What she said now is that what upsets him is that i'm feeding him too much and he puts on too much weight.:hissy:
silly silly comment... i wish i could say BACK OFF! but OH talked to her that;s not the reason

when will mil ever leave me alone with my baby? :hissy::hissy:

sorry for a long rant...and thank for reading

:hugs: sorry to hear your MIL is giving you a hard time. Babies feed little and often, doesnt sound to me like your feding him too much x

did your mil feed her kids with bottles - mine did. she says 'you're feeding her too much' i want to say back off too. they just don't know, do they???

they don';t but they think they do know everything about babies, lol

It takes longer to nurse a baby at the breast then with a bottle. It also takes a baby less time to digest breast breast milk, so they are going to eat more often. Ignore your MIL and do what you think is best for YOUR baby!

oh sorry hun, my little one also fed very often in the beginning , i just feed on demand but now he can go 3 hours between feeds, but sometime he wont and hell feed twice in an hour.

oh hun know how you feel my mil who I love dearly and was there at the birth keeps saying no you shouldnt use a dummy and takes off her scratch mittens so she can suck her fingers aaarhhhhhhh then she keeps saying oh its to hot in here for her or its to cold I swear my bloody temp is pretty much 65 degrees it drives me nuts dont put to many blankets on her aaaaarrrrrrh the thing to remember is they mean well and a friend of mine said listen to all the advise your given and just take the bits you want

she did same thing with me, it's too hot in this room or it's too cold, or you need more blanket or you don;t put too much blanket on him. So nothing is right. I know she means well but she just keep saying it all the time and it's annoying
she was holding him and he was crying for milk, but she wouldn't give him back to me only saying that he got tummy ache or he's not hungry, she walked away from me with baby so i had to go and get him back and feed him:hissy:

 MIL's can be very hard to deal with
