I don't think I've felt full since my son was born 10 weeks ago. I got back to my pre pregnancy weight after a week as I only gained 7lbs. I got weighed a week ago and I'm up only 1lb but scared all my eating is going to catch up with me. I try to have fruit, crackers, and veggies but they just don't curb my hunger. What else can I do? I lost 4 1/2 stone since 2012 and scared I'll go back up xx

If you're able, maybe speak with a nutritionist about what you can do to stay full and keep your nutrients up to continue lactating. Remember to drink a lot of water :) Good luck.

Weight fluctuates anywhere from 2-5 lbs a day depending on the time of the day, your previous meal, water weight, time of the month...etc. That one pound you gained is most likely daily fluctuations and not fat gain.

I'd be hungry on those foods too. Fat and protein would be more satisfying.

I was living on biscuits and cereal bars at every night feed and still lost weight during bf (don't worry ladies I put it all back on now, and some!). It just made me absolutely ravenous even on days when someone had cooked me a decent meal! I'd just follow your body's lead but obviously if you start to put on an unhealthy amount re-evaluate, but like pp said 1lb isn't really a measurable gain.

Should have mentioned that I can't eat fat at all. Had complicated chronic cholecystitis and had my gallbladder out last year. Now I can't eat fat or end up on hospital in excruciating pain. The fruit crackers and veggies are on top of my normal meals so I can avoid eating junk food. Just can't seem to feel satisfied at all. Xxx

Protein is great for satiety. I'm no doctor but once you've had a gallblader removal you should avoid high fat foods, but still eat foods with good fat in them (fish, avocados etc). Macronutrients (fats, protein, carbs) are essential for growth, healing, metabolism...they are needed for survival.

Would nuts fall in to that category?
