i have thought for some time that she had colic / reflux but lately think the reflux has gone so am not giving her the gaviscon anymore, i have noticed that when i lie her down she SCREAMS, scrunches her face up in pain, its not attention cos i pick her up and she stops, put her down in her vibraty chair and she's fine, lie her down again and she SCREAMMMS! tenses all her body up so shes almost leaning backwards!! poor little girl, im really worried, i want to take her to the hospital but we have no money to get there so would have to call ambulance, i realllly dont want to waste their time so if its nothing urgent id rather wait a few days till we have money again

what do u girls think?

Sorry hunni i have no idea, hope someone can help soon x

Alfie had bad colic hun and I think part of his problem was that he got heartburn when he was laying flat. He now sleeps in his rocker which means his head is raised and this is much better for him. Was just thinking this could be why she likes her vibrating chair??

try raising her mattress to soothe the pain... i think it sounds like reflux.. maybe try the gaviscon again?

Yeah I was going to say it sounds like it mightbe the reflux since it only happening when she's laying flat. My boys have never had it but I've had friends that kids did and they had to keep them elevated for atleast 30min after eating and then after that they would feel better. Does it seem to happen more right after she eats?

When Grace did something similar I thought it may be reflux. But it wasn't so I thought maybe it was colic so I gave her some gripe water and that seemed to help. The wind on their tummies makes them wriggle and curl up in pain, similar to when we have it badly and it's really painful. However that might not be whats up with leyla. I would give nhs direct a ring and see what they suggest :hugs:

When Brookes reflux is playing up she screams and screams if laid flat

Try propping her up at an angle in some way in her cot/basket and see if that helps.

Her reflux may well be playing up hun, the gaviscon is only making you think the relfux has gone

thanks everyone, ive only got a couple of sachets of the gaviscon left so will have to ask for some more, the gripe water does make her better but i dont give her the right dose, i give her a few dummy coats whenever she screams, ive tried giving her the 5ml off a spoon but she just sicks it all back up again, i tried ringing nhs direct about it the other week cos she wasnt feeding well either and they said they werent allowed to give advice over the phone and i had to make a doctors appt
