Implantation Bleeding or Early Misdarriage?!

I am a mother of one and m/c in May. Four days before my period was due I started spotting and very light bleeding. It was bright red and pink and lasted off and on for about 5 days. I assumed that this was my period, but since I never actually needed a tampon or pad (just a liner) I became suspicious. I took a pregnancy test 12/6 the day after my period was due and there it was, two bright pink lines!! I was completely shocked, but also confused about whether or not I'm actually pregnant. The bleeding lasted awfully long to have been implantation bleeding, but never heavy enough to be AF? I have an apt a week from monday for an ultrasound confirmation, I just don't want to get my hopes up! It has been three days since the bleeding stopped and there has been no reason for me to suspect it will return?

Hmm i honestly don't know! You'd think if you were pregnant and had a MC that you wouldn't get a pos hpt. You wouldn't have enough HCG in your body to have built up that much. Sounds too much to be implantation especially bright red. Have you ever read up on vanishing twin syndrome? No idea if that could be it or not. You could have had twins and one didn't make it but the other is still alive! Idk. Just hang tight and test every other day up until your appt. How exciting, frightening and confusing!!! Nothing ever comes easy. Keep me updated!!!

hi,

a friend of mine went to her first ultrasound & was a month further ahead than her LMP! She was shocked because she had bled like a normal period but was still pregnant (& didn't know it). her midwife said it wasn't normal, but sometime did happen (perhaps a twin m/c).
so, stay positive! I hope things work out just fine for you.
