implantation, then period 16 days later?

My hubby and I were trying for our second.. had sex on all the right days. I had a bit of brownish blood one night. Only enough to fill a napkin. And about 10 days prior I had massive white creamy discharge. Constantly, but after the "implantation" it stopped. I had sore boobs, fatigue, headaches.. but my tests were all negative. We were afraid of tubal. But today 20 days since spotting, and 16 sincr missed period, I got my period. Whats that about? is it my period or something else? Its teamed with awful AWFUL CRAMPS!!
