Income reduced by £13k and yet tax credits are the same??

Based on our household income 09-10 I'm entitled to £21 of tax credits per week. Our income for 10-11 is reduced by over £13k due to me being on maternity leave but according to the online tax credits calculator the amount due to us in tax credits is the same?!

How can that be right?

id call up tax credits urself and see what they say as that seems very unfair.
when i was on mat leave and also with ohs wage we were on more money then, then we are now only being on ohs wage its rediculas but least we are getting somethings

Don't they work it out by what you earnt the previous year?! Its all a bit backward unfortunately x

Yeah but I called and asked them and they said when we get our letter we just need to call them and say what the expected income is for 10-11 and they'll adjust the payments.
