Can someone please confirm if this is right ?

When my husband left, I notified HMRC and they stopped my claim for WTC ( he works, I don't ) and transfered it to CTC. They told me to contact Income Support and put in a claim which I did and now on top of my CTC I also get £67 a week income support. When my IS confirmation letter came through, it said that £67 is the amount that I should live on - but I also get CTC, HB, Council tax benefit and Child Benefit. I am just worried that they are giving me too much and will ask me to pay it back. Does everyone get IS as well as CTC ?

I am a single mom to 3 if this makes a difference ?

yes hun, 67.50 is the weekly amount for a single parent.

I get the same.

xxx

But do you get Child Tax Credit as well - not sure if I should get one instead of the other but I am getting both. I am not complaining, its a great help but I just don't want them telling me they made a mistake and I have to pay it all back again.

no you get both.. ctc,is and housing benifit ad also council tax benifit

Your income support money is what YOU need to live on CTC is what the kids need to live on HTH xx you should get everything you have mentioned and wont have to pay any of it back x

thank you everyone, feeling a little less stressed now. x
