Where to start.. My original due date was November 5th. I started having high blood pressure issues at the start of October. No one really paid any attention to it until it was at the end of the pregnancy. I was scheduled to be induced October 29th because of the high BP. One week before my due date.

I went to the doctor the 28th for a check up. I was suppose to have my cervix checked to see if it was soft and dilated yet. My bp was really high at the doctor's visit. I was sent from OB to L&D right after the appointment. They hooked me up to a NST and BP monitor in L&D. The midwife ended up checking me cervix, which was already at 2cm. She swept membranes and it set me in to labor. The monitor was going up and down with contractions. My blood pressure shot up super high and she ended up admitting me to be induced that day. One day early for induction.

I was moved to a larger birthing room! It was much nicer compared to the one that I was in before. I was settled in and the midwife came back in. She used a balloon filled with 80 cc of water to open my cervix to 5cm. They fill this balloon to 80cc. Once it's full, they hang it off of the bed with an iv bag. Once the cervix reaches 5cm, the balloon comes out and falls out on the ground. This knocks off 4 hours of labor.. Thing is.. They left me in the room by myself while my husband went home to get my bags and stuff. There wasn't a nurse call button in site.. or a phone. I was strapped to the bed because of this balloon in my vagina, NST, BP cuff, ivs, and so on.. I wasn't able to get up. I was laying there for over an hour like this. This was the worst part of labor! They FINALLY came in to check on me and I asked for some pain medication. Once they gave me the medication, I was fine! :D

We had hired a photographer to come and document everything! https://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=303070&id=508415519&l=6b7eaf5311
That's the link. There were more photos taken but I put the ones that family can see on the net! :)

I asked for an epi. at 6cm. It took the guy took a few times to get it. He started it two times and poked me with the needle way more! He said that the spaces in my spine were tight... :growlmad: My left side was dead. I could still feel stuff on the right side. My husband rubbed my back a little bit and it helped moved through the right. It was coming and going. It wasn't as bad towards the end.

Anyways, I ended up being in labor 2 days. I pushed for 3 1.2 hours with every contraction. The midwife that took care of me the whole pregnancy came in and ended up delivering our little guy. I was so happy when I saw her face! She helped so much! :) She had me roll side to side to find a good pushing spot. It was so hard to roll with my legs numb. I had my husband on one leg and the nurse on the other. Towards the end, the midwife used baby shampoo on his head to help lube him up. She was helping move my pelvixc bone up so he would slide out. the midwife left for a few minutes. She came back and said that the main doctor said since I had been pushing for over 3 hours I'd have to have suction or forceps to get him out. That was NOT part of my birth plan at all! >< Nor was being induced! :growlmad: Once she told me this, I freaked. I pushed with everything I had for 15 minutes straight. He went from crowning to out on my belly in 15 minutes! That's all it took! :happydance:

Richard III was born October 29th, 2010 at 4:07 PM in Landstuhl, Germany at a military hospital. He was 6lbs 13oz and 21 inches long. He is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life. I love him so much already.
