My baby boy was born the 16th of January 2013.
I was due to get induced the 15th of January but on the 14th of January my SPD got so bad I couldn't walk or stand.
My ob gave me my first pessary at 9pm 14th of January and gave me a sweep nothing.
The ob came back at 8am put another pessary in gave another sweep nothing he came back at 9pm gave another sweep pessary nothing.
So we agreed labor suite in the morning where he would give a combined epidural/sintocin.
11am the next morning in labor suite they break my waters, I had grade 3 meconium. The nurse puts up the sintocin drip does not follow doctors orders and get the epidural, sintocin at 8 nothing, sintocin at 16 nothing sintocin at 32 my contractions are off the chart gas and air do nothing I think I had 5 contractions my husband said eh no you passed out you were contracting so rapidly, he called the crap midwife over and said I can't wake her and my heart slowed down to 0 she panics and calls the OB and the cardiac team they get my heart back up again he walks in asks the shite midwife where's her epidural? Oh she said I taught I'd leave her go and see if she needed one, he asked did you discuss that with the patient and he and my husband said no. He checked me I went from 3cm to 9cm in 10mins he called the anesteciast and she asked the midwife did you discuss with the patient when the sintocin was giving did she want the epidural she said no, she gave her the filthiest look.
Epidural in and my just fabulous midwife told me I could of tried harder without the epidural my husband and the anestiatist give out stink to her.
They call the OB back in they do an oxygen scratch test on his head and he's low so they decide to vacumn he came out reasonably well.
Then the nightmare started again.
They gave me the injection to detach my placenta.
Doctors trying to take it out for 30mins and it won't detach he asks my charming midwife what's my sintocin at she said 8 he said your kidding me no wonder her placenta won't detach he told her to get out then they got a hook and pulled out my placenta it was horrible I could feel them pulling and dragging my placenta it took 30mins and I can still feel the dragging I lost allot of blood my heart slowed agin cardiac team called again and they gave me 2pints of blood there and then my lil baba was then handed to me 7,13 I'm only 5'1 he was a big boy gorgeous big juicy lips he looked like my dad breast fed like a pro even though I had flat nipples.
Got back to my room they made me walk to the bathroom I collapsed I got another pint of blood in the morning. The whole experiance was ruined by a midwife who taught she knew better and over ruled doctors orders my husband said it was like watching a horror he watched my heart slow down to nothing he told me afterwards he told me all he could think was how could he tell my mother I was gone and how would he take care of the baby alone.
