If this has happened to you, please tell me about it. It looks like the road I am on and I am the type that needs to know everything that could happen, don't leave out the scary stuff...
Do you mean ending in an emcs? A lot of induced labours end naturally so don't lose heart if that's what you are hoping for? My sisters induction was slow to start with but once they put her on the drip she gave birth with her first naturally and with very little pain relief after only 4-hours! It was super quick. My friend was also induced last Monday at 40+9 (she is a midwife) and she gave birth just 6-hours later
In my situation my waters went at 40+9 but with meconium. I was having very irregular and light contractions so they put me on the drop to speed things along. Frustratingly 16-hours after being put on the drip I was still at 7cm, exhausted beyond belief and my birth ende in an emcs. They had been preparing me for it for 4-hours beforehand as I was so against a section but in all honesty it really wasn't that bad and after 16-hours (8 of which were active and very painful) it was a relief. I got given an epidural which I was dead against and in my birth plan as a no go!! But it was honestly brilliant and had such a relaxing and calming affect on me. The section itself was over in 15-mins and painless. The medics in the room were amazing and my husband was handed our son after a quick kiss from me almost immediately. I got to kiss, cuddle and breastfeeding my son after 30-mins and we were left alone together for 1hour once I got out of the theatre room.
Recovery was a bummer - I had no issues but I'm naturally a very active person and hated not being able to drive, carry him in a car seat etc for the first few weeks.
