Hello ladies! I'm not sure if I am putting this thread in the right sub topic, but I figure most of you have babies already so why not! I am being induced at 37 weeks next week due to pre-eclampsia. To say that I am nervous is an understatement! I have a tricky uterus as I used to have a complete septate uterus, but it was resected and now I just have a very mild bicornuate uterus.....Tricky part is that I have two Cervixes, so we are unsure as to which one is going to dilate!

I would love to hear some of your induction stories... Lay it on me! The good, the bad, the ugly...Any tips?

For me, it wasn't unpleasant, just took a long time!

I had a hormone pessary once i'd been settled into a ward, it caused a few contractions which tailed off. Had a second pessary the next day, same thing happened. They decided to wait until the following day to get the doctor to have a look and say whether they wanted me to have the third pessary. The examination I had with the doctor was the worst part of the whole experience, but that was just her awful bedside manner and the fact that she ignored me when I was telling her how rough she was. They decided against the third pessary as I was dilated enough to have my water broken so was left to wait for a bed on the consultants ward. That night everything kicked off on their own. Water broke at 10.30 pm, laboured overnight with a couple of meptid injections, finally asked for some stronger painkillers at about 10.15 the next morning so the Midwife examined me, and realised I was fully dilated so was whisked off to a delivery room (I was still on the antenatal ward at this point)
Other half rushed in at about 10.45, I started pushing at around 11am. Contractions tailed off (I was tired out and the Midwife was distracting me) so was put on a drip to give them a kick start. Still struggled to push baby out so dr was called (luckily not the horrible one) and as they were getting all the gear out for a ventouse delivery, gave a final push and finally made progress so had a natural delivery, having had an episiotomy and still tearing. Baby was finally born at 12.48pm. Had to go into theatre to get stitched up, but even that I call a positive experience, I was euphoric and loved everything :)

I had an induction with my. Daughter at 38 weeks due to pre-e. It wasn't bad but very intense. They inserted a pessary (just like a tampon, pushing it right up, didn't hurt) left it for 24hrs then removed it. I had no pain whatsoever and hen try examined me after I was 3cms. They decided to then break my water (which did hurt a little) but after that contractions came full on and painful but just under 3 1/2 hours later it was all over and I was holding my baby girl. I did have to have an episiotomy but that was probably me and not the induction. I hope this helps ease your mind. 😃

I had my propess put in Monday evening didn't do much then about 4 in the morning it all started happening really quick, The whole labour was 1 hour 28 minutes long!! Best labour I've had yet :) only pushed for 3 mins aswel which is a first for me! X

Had pessary in at 10.30am, waters broke just after 5pm, baby was born at 6.14pm after a massive 5pushs :haha:

As above it was intense but I also had back labour so that may be why

I had the pessary put in just after 12/noon .My contractions started at midnight, 2-3 cm at 1 am, 5cm at 4am waters broken by midwife shortly after, 10 cm at around 5:30am, baby was here at 6:20am.

I had a drip put in my hand at 5 am so I could have an epidural, by the time the guy came to do it though I was 10cm and it was too late! a whole bunch of things happened afterwards but had I been able to push and get her out myself she would have been here shortly after half 5.
