This is a very late birth story seeing as my little man was 6 weeks old on friday!

At 41+2 I went to the hospital to have a propess induction. I had three failed sweeps and was in agony with spd. Got to the hospital at 2pm to be told that they can't do the propess induction as i am slightly high risk :dohh: So they said to go home, come back with my bags and they will induce at hospital. I was in tears at this point as all started to sink in! Went home and and got everything ready, did everything really slowly as didn't want to go back to the hospital!

Arrived again and they put me on the monitor, bubs was fine. They put the pessary in at 7pm. I read some magazines and tried to sleep but couldn't as lots of women on the ward who were moaning in pain every two mins!

Woke up at 2am with contractions! By 3am I had a bath was in there for an hour! Was examined at 6am and told I was 2-3cms dilated and that they would send me up to the labour ward soon to break my waters :happydance: So called my fiance to get a move on! Contractions were more painful, was examined and they said babies head wasn't fully engaged so they did a scan to confirm. They said they couldn't break my waters yet as the cord could come out, and theatre was busy.

Finally went up to the labour ward at 7pm! At this point I had the last bed and they had closed the ward as so busy! Contractions had slowed so they gave me another pessary. Was examined and told i was 2cms :growlmad:

Kept falling asleep but woke up with every contraction so midwife gave me some diamorhphine ( I think).

At 8am on the Friday I was still 2cm but midiwife said my cervix was paper thin  (what a compliment!) My contractions really started to pick up. Pressure in my back was ridiculous. Was given gas and air, was amazing! Felt so drunk and said some pretty weird things! Told my midwife that I could be a bitch if she wants! Also tried to trick her! Told her that I didn't want an epidural and not to offer me one. But when i was taking the gas and air I pretended to cry to see if she would offer me one! After 10 mins of me wailing she caved and asked :haha: I said no and that I just tested her and she failed :haha:

By 11amish my waters still hadn't broke and his head still wasn't engaged, tried to walk but pain was too much, stood up had a contraction projectile vomited everywhere and wet myself

Then I noticed a trickle of fluid down my leg that was a dark green colour. Doctor came in and the meconium was really thick. Was on the monitor the whole time but kept ripping it off as so uncomfortable. They couldn't get a good trace of baby so put the monitor on his head. His heart rate was dipping so they took oxogen from him. The first result was low, they said they would do another one in 10 mins if that was still low then I would be having a EMCS.

So the anaesthetist rushed in to give me an epidural, by this time I was 6cm and passing out from the pain. Had a doctors hand up my foofah and then had to try and turn and sit up to put the epidural in. Was agony with my spd and I honestly thought I was going to die with the pain! After the epidural was in I felt fab! Had my heart rate and pulse taken every 5 mins and luckily my little boys oxogen levels had increased so no need for a c-sec :happydance:

After what felt like a lifetime I was finally fully dilated the pressure was horrible. They said I needed to wait for 2 hours for his head to fully come down. After 15 mins I said they need to examine me I am going to poo! She had a look at 11pm and she said, yep you can start pushing now!

Pushing felt weird she kept putting her finger in me and saying this is were you need to push. My fiance and another midwife were pushing my legs back. I kept pushing and surprised myself ( I was a quiet pusher) My fiance was convinced I would be a screamer!

At 11.48pm on the 21st our beautiful baby boy Temitayo Elijah was born. He was put on my chest and just looked at me with his big eyes. The paediatrician was in the room and took him after as he wasn't breathing. Me and me fiance were both  After a good rub and some oxogen he finally took his first breath and gave a good cry.

The meconium was really thick and his hair was covered with big clumps of it! My placenta was green as well from it

He was weighed and was exactly 10lb! I had a small second degree tear and some grazes and stitches but nothing major.

Tayo had to be monitored every 4 hours for 24 hours because of the meconium and also he had his blood sugars done because of his high birth weight.

We really struggled with breastfeeding as he just wouldn't latch on  On Sunday I woke up with a massive headache and my legs and ankles were sooo swollen! Temperature was high and bloods showed an infection, was so gutted as was fed up of the hospital. Started on anti-biotics, results showed that I tested positive for group B strep. Was finally discharged from the hospital on Tuesday! Had to have blood thinning injections for 8 days because of the swelling as it put me at high risk for a blood clot.

Anyways I have rambled! Here are some pictures of our little boy Tayo <3
