I'm due for a induction on tuesday maybe sooner if bubz doesn't move more. But I was wondering if they let the partner stay the whole time even if it takes a day or so. I mean you could go into labour at anytime. I'm booked in a leicester general,uk. Just in case there's anyone here who is or has had one there. Thanks everyone

Most places that Im aware of dont. My birth partners werent allowed in until I was in established labour (4cms) x

Hi Abnala,

I live near Leicester :)
I'm planning on having my baby at Melton Birth Centre, or QMC Notts if any problems occur.
That's a good question! One I wanted to know for myself as I wanted my OH with me at all times!! I know how things work at QMC regarding partners staying over, but, as for the Leicester hospitals I am not sure.
Sorry I can't be of any help to you, I didn't just want to 'read & run'!!
Maybe give your midwife a call to find out.
Good luck with everything x

Hi, I was induced three weeks ago at the general. It started on the Thursday and sadly hubby had to go home after visiting hours, so 8.30pm and then return the next morning. He got to stay on the Friday though because my waters were broken at 10.30pm so they didn't send him home, I was just then put on the drip and he could stay once I was in the delivery room, but not while on the ward. I hated he had to go, but maybe you'll be in full blown labour within the first day and then he can stay. Good Luck x

I was also induced. Usually until you are in established labour you will be on a ward with other women, so once visiting time is over oh will be sent home.
My oh was allowed to stay until midnight,(the ward was fairly quiet) although visiting was until 8.
Then he was called back at 4am and I was moved to the delivery suite.
