Hi all,

I'm really worried, my little one has been on prescribed infant gaviscon for reflux, and at her 4pm feed I put her dose in the water for her milk, not realising hubby had already added some to her feed.

So she's had double the dose, i'm waiting for a call back from NHS direct but i'm worried and feel awful, she's crying, but this is her grumpy nap time too, so I don't know if it's coimcidence.

Has anyone accidently given their baby too much Gaviscon? was it ok? We've given her some water to water it down too.

I think she will be ok, as it wasnt anything stronger. She may have a slighly more runnier nappy though.Good that u called nhs direct though x

Thanks Hubby not too concerned she didn't finish her bottle anyway and is currently blowing bubbles on his lap but I'm the more neurotic of the 2 of us and can't help but worry

Give her some extra water as the gaviscon may make her constipated.. I've done the same before and he's 100% fine x

im sure it will be fine, extra water just incase it causes constipation x

Thanks guys she's settled now the nurse rang back and said give extra water, which we'd already done. And some calpol if she seems to be having tummy pain. Phew panic over will keep on with the extra water now, luckily we have HV tomorrow too xx

Hey

Infant Gaviscon is just a thickener really. It causes constipation normally. Just give plenty of water and if she seems in pain with constipation give some prune juice half and half with water to help xx

i wouldnt panic. worst case your LO will get a belly ache and have a rather hard poop!

you wont get any sick though :)
