Has anyone seen an infertility specialist after having 2 or 3 miscarriages? What to expect?

My insurance just approved a requested referral for me to see one, but as I'm reading on google, it mostly is recommended for couples who have problems conceiving. We have no problem conceiving but problem maintaining the pregnancy. Is an infertility specialist the right place to go?

I requested for an infertility specialist because my OBGYN is hesitant on ordering tests for me since I've "only" had 2 m/cs and it's not considered recurrent until the 3rd. I want some answers, just don't know if it's the right place.

Well, the liklihood that you are to carry a pregnancy to term after three m/c decreases to about 60%. They will probably want to check your uterus for scarring. Then hormone tests (I have low progesterone so I have early m/c). They might also do an HSG, but, I am not sure since you are getting PG on your own. I wasn't even getting PG, so they did one of those (which was clear). They might also check to make sure that yours and your LO DNA matches, and also check for a clotting disorder. There is also somthing that can make you attack your baby, but apparently that one is super simple to correct, with asprin. I would def go, since you have had three. I too have had three, so if you ever want to talk, I am here for you!
