insemination nerves

we are about 8 weeks or so from this insemination and I am nervous.... I have only been intimate with one person in my whole life (due to childhood stuff) and i'm nervous now. I know insemination is different from sex, but the nerves have hit. Should I explain my nerves to my doctors?

It can't hurt to let them know you are nervous. A good Dr will be sensitive to that.

IUIs aren't so bad though - kind of like a pap smear. I have a little cramping after but other than that it isn't anything major.

it is really just like a Pap and doesn't feel all that invasive. I was also very nervous about my first one. I thought it would be painful so my Dr perscribed vallum(sp). You may want to ask about it to calm your nerves.

in my case they even allow someone with you. so if you want to have your partner or friend there to lend support, that may be an option.
