I would think that it means there wasn't enough, that there was too much or that it wasn't tested in time or something. When my OH did his there was only what looked a tiny amount but they still got loads of results. If there was enough semen but no sperm you would still get all the results such as motility etc but they would say 0
It means that there was not enough 'fluid' in the tube. It may be that he just didn't produce much on the day or may mean some of it missed the container.
Please don't woirry that it means there weren't enough sperm; this would produce results and information, which they haven't been able to give you. They need a minimum amount of fluid to be able to start the testing process.
He will need to give a repeat sample.
