Yesterday I fell on my stomach went to the doctor today had an ultrasound. Baby has a normal heartbeat but there is some bleeding inside in my placenta which is lower than its supposed to be. Also my cervix has opened by what she said a little. I haven't bled or spotted at all. I have an ultrasound in three weeks to check again. I'm so frightened I can't stop crying. I couldn't get a straight answer from the doc how severe it was or If I might lose the baby. I need advice or someone who's been in a similar situation. Please!

Sorry no advice but didn't want to read and run but hoping you get some advice and all goes well. How open is your cervix and is this something that is going to be followed up for you?

Let me note that I had a bleed around placenta on previous pregnancy which didn't cause many problems which was carefully monitored. It resolved itself and placentas can be irritated by falls and bleed but most don't always result in loss unless severe trauma. I take it from you haven't been kept in hospital care? Or have you? In regards to open cervix it's a harder one to judge as it depends on a few factors. I've had children before so mine is always slightly open. Have you had pains? The fact the baby is ok and they let you home is reassuring but make sure you get proper follow up care x

And my placenta is still quite low, always moves up as I progress. I'm 15 weeks also

Can you put yourself on strict bedrest? It does happen that the placenta becomes detached slightly and bleeds a bit, but it can heal itself over time. Try to take it easy and stay off your feet. Thinking of you and sending you positive thoughts :hugs:

They haven't sent me to the hospital.
The only follow up is an ultrasound in three weeks to check the progress
The doctor told me nothing of what would happened or would try if it progresses.
I'm honestly more worried about the cervix issue. I'm freakish out because I constantly feel "wet" like I'm leaking. I can't explain it.
I am on bedrest aside from permission for going to work but I feel I need to call her back because if permanent bed rest has more of a chance of my baby surviving I rather do that.

She said it was open by a little maybe by a finger much.
But the excessive discharge is really scaring me.
This would be my first child. I don't know why this is happening or what causes this. The fall? And if so I hate myself because I feel like this is all my fault

I really think you will be ok :) a finger is about 1 cm which mine is always at which makes my discharge a lot more prominent and thicker, almost like loosing a bit of plug but it always replenishes itself.

Easier said than done I know but try not to stress believe me I hate it when people say that to me but it will help, and I really hope all goes well for you but I have a good feeling you and bubba will be grand :) xx

Thank you for the reply. That puts my mind at some ease before my next ultrasound. I just have a weird constant feel to wipe down there if it makes sense.
