Iresponsible parenting- skin cancer

Regardless of their parenting, I think it'd be unusual to be able to say with certainly what caused a person's cancer. I don't think it's helpful to anybody to apportion blame if somebody does get it, particularly when it's not something they have done (as it would be in the case of somebody smoking around a child and then the child getting lung cancer or something similar), it's a case of not doing something you think they ought to have done.

What would you do if YOU got skin cancer? Blame your parents for not using a high enough SPF? Look into it and wonder if the chemicals from religiously applied chemical-laden sun cream caused the cancer instead? I don't think the blame game has a place here. I do, however, understand feeling some resentment to the inlaws for certain aspects of their parenting, I know I do, but I wouldn't look to blame them for anything in particular... well, apart from OH having never used a washing machine in his whole life!
