Irregular cycles and CBFM..

I have really irregular cycles and over the past few months have spent a small fortune on CB opk's, (I'm sure I don't have you tell you's how expensive it can get ), up until then I had been using IC opk's which I don't seem to get +'s on ( I get very strong +'s on CB's so thinking the IC just don't work for me .. so I have finally convinced hubby to let me buy a CBFM I've just bought one.... I am so excited. Really hoping it helps me to understand my cycles better.

Anyone else with irregular cycles using CBFM? How do you find it?

I recently purchased a CBFM. What a great buy!! I love mine. Helped me realise I don't ovulate. I have never got a + on any opk in the past and didn't get a peak on this went to the docs and asked for bloods and turns out it's right I don't ovulate on my own. I'm now on metformin and got my first peak this month. I had the opposite with the saliva test I used to get + at random times all month. I love it and really helped me to figure out my cycles turns out I peak around day 15-16 now fingers crossed for my this month after first peak on CBFM

Love it! My cycle ranges from 28 - 42 (42+ when I don't ovulate) and as far as I can tell the only difference is that the CBFM asks me to use more testing sticks than people with more regular cycles. That is a small price to pay to let go of the charting madness

Yeah I used 20 sticks the first month while it tried to figure out my cycle the on the month I actually ovulated I used 10 once you hot your first peak day it won't ask for anymore until ur next cycle x

I had irregular cycles and had to use more than one box of test sticks some cycles, if you need to do that make sure both boxes have the same batch numbers as this ensures accuracy.

I am so excited to get my CBFM. Sounds like pretty much everyone loves them. . i have wanted one for soooo long and I am so glad i have finally taken the step and bought one

Do you HAVE to start using it on CD1 or can you start in the middle of your cycle?

i suspect I will have ov'd by the time it arrives anyway

Hi I bought CBFM used it for first time my cycle is irregular from 28-34 but my period has been 28 days for the past 2 months so detected ovulation twice!! DTD and today Af is Due and hoping it wont show her face!!

Hiya - thought I'd share my experience of it

I've used the CBFM for four cycles now with mixed results. It's really clear and easy to use, however if you dont ovulate by Day 28 it assumes you got something wrong and you then have to wait until your next cycle to test - that's why it says it should be used for women with 21-42 day cycles. Most people will obviously be in this, but not me...

So the 4 months I've used it, for 2 months I got high (not peak) readings, for 1 month I got a peak reading (was well chuffed as never got one with the normal OPKs) and for another month I didnt get any high or peaks (in fact that is this month and it seems I am having a really long cycle this month as am on day 34 and still no temp rise and can no longer use the CBFM as it has stopped asking for tests)

I've heard you can get round these long cycles by delaying when you set day 1 eg I might try setting Day 1 on the monitor as my real Day 10 for example, so it will then ask me for my first test around my real Day 17 (as the monitor thinks it is Day7) - think I may try this next time as I have never ovulated earlier than Day20.
