hello ladies

please could l ask your advice - been getting lots of bh since mid 2nd tri and today they got really worse and sore and frequent so went along to labour ward, they checked me cervix was okay but said that l have irritable uterus and just to take paracetamol, obviously looked it up and indications of preterm labour scare me, as l had my dd1 at 37 wks and she was only 4lb 11 oz and was iugr which they found out after she was born coz they never picked it up earlier :growlmad:

has anyone had experience of this and could advice me on what to do

appreciate all your help

I can't share too much about.. It happened to me my very first pregnancy. They told me that I wasn't able to get a cerclage because of it. I ended up going into labor at 23 weeks and change. In the midst of irritability I had real contractions apparently.

Everyone's situation is a little differently. One of the suggestions I got was to drink a lot of water and stay off my feet.

Good Luck to you.. I only wish you the best..

I have irritable uterus with my last pregnancy and this pregnancy
It started at 14 weeks with both and have gone into preterm labor with both at 24-25 weeks.
Keep an eye on any contraction you have

thank you natalie and ejsmom for your replies

got admitted for the pains and given steriods in case this lo wanted to make an appearance

but thankfully not doing anything to the cervix :happydance:

but l am still concerned that every painful bh is doing something - and my gosh are they painful, l even have to take deep breaths as they are taking my breath away badly

how does one cope with such terrible painful bh? :hugs:

Great news! Have they done an ultrasound on your cervix? My cervix had no changes to but when i had an ultrasound it had shorten from 4.71cm at 20 weeks to 2.32cm at 25 weeks.
I hope everything settles down for you :hugs:

hiya natalie
thank you for your reply
no they did not check me by scan, they just done an internal with their hands and yes l was l think 2cm so going to re read my notes now to see what they saw :dohh:

if it is 2cm does that mean l am more likely to have preterm labour?

just checked my notes and l am worried

on thursday my cv length was 2 cm

and the next day when the cons checked me l was 1.5cm - does this mean l am going towards preterm labour? :nope:
