sorry this is my 3rd question tonight lol, but my midwife said to go for my anatomy scan between 18 and 19 weeks and am wondering if when i am 18weeks 2 days if it will be ok to go or if i should wait a few extra days. I don't think a few extra days will matter, i am just desperate to know the sex and can't bare to wait any longer lol

It's not too early.. basically i went for my scan @ 19+3 and midwife told me it was a little early and bubs wasn't big enough. So she didn't tell me the gender of my baby properly.. she said it looks like a boy & thats all she could tell me.. which wasn't helpfull.

So i'm gona have to book a private scan in a weeks time and get the gender checkd.

Good luck anyway :hugs:

but could she check the heart and everything else and see if everything was ok that early?

Yes definetly.. she took all measurements & heartbeat. Everything was fine for the babys gestional age.

that is good, i am just worried that they wont be able to get all the proper measurements that early but i don't think if i waited another 3 days there would be much difference in bubs size

I had mines at 17 weeks 5 days

But I was two days ahead they did not know this when the scan was done though

Mine will be done at 17+4..and my OB says it's still an adequate time to tell. I know some people who had 4d scans done at 15 and 16 wks and they were correct!

yay that will be exciting, i am just too impatient lol so i think i will book it for 18 weeks, i am sure they should see everything clearly and if not they will just re scan me

Yes! I would do it too :D If for some reason we can't see on this upcoming scan of mine on Wednesday, I'm booking a 4d that day LOL

I got mine at 16+2 and they could tell it was a girl! I am having another one at 19 weeks anyway though.

I had mine at 18w3d and she got all measurements perfectly and the little boy parts were VERY obvious lol

She even showed us the 4 chambers of the heart, the bladder, kidneys, and blood flow through the umbilical cord and placenta to baby. It was all amazing!

18-20 weeks is usually the time they offer an anomaly scan, so it's not too early x

Thanks for the replys ladies, i can't wait to find out what i am having and to make sure bubs is growing well and is healthy

Yes, and 17 weeks d says you could clearly see what my bub was all girl.

We had our scan at exactly 18 weeks and it was very obvious that our little one is a girl :pink::happydance:. There is always a chance that he/she won't behave lol but if she cooperates it's definitely not too early!! Good luck!!! xx

My doctor actually told me the sex at 16 weeks. I had lots of scans when I was pregnant and I just asked and she said she was 80% sure he was a boy.

Had my scan at 20 weeks and confirmed it.
