Is alkaline water safe?

I've been reading on this subject for a while now and I'm honestly stuck. I'm inclined to get a ionizer to install in the kitchen like these Best Rated Under Sink Alkaline Water Ionizer Reviews - 2020 Comparison but the opinions are so split online that I'm just worried that I'll make a bad purchase and end up wasting my money. What do you guys think? Is it a good idea? Should I get my toddler to drink alkaline water? It's purified at least, so that's one benefit I need cause last time I tested my tap water, lead and chlorine levels were worryingly high.

Do you just want to remove the lead and chlorine or do you want alkaline water?

Honestly, both. I want pure water that is alkaline.
