Hi!!
I posted this also in the trying to conceive over 35 forum but maybe should have posted here instead.
Well I find myself at 44 and a half, pregnant. I had my 4th baby in may 2011 at 41, no problems.
This however, is a total suprise, considering I had a mc in march last year at 43, and I have presumed ever since that its no more babies for me.
I started vitex 6 weeks ago to help with pms, so I am wondering if that helped. I am continuing to take it till 12 weeks. If I get that far.
Is there anyone in a similar situation, or has had a successful pregnancy at 44.
I am terrified.
Thanks
Jo x

Hi,

I am 46 now and have a 2 year old, so was pregnant at 43/44 -- my pregnancy was fine until 34 weeks (no gestational diabetes or other common 'older' mom issues, but I did develop pre-eclampsia, but LO was always fine (I had an emergency c-section at 36wks, but we had planned for one anyway).

We were about to start a first cycle of IVF, when we got pregnant naturally with LO although I did have mc two years prior. He's healthy, happy and very clever, so we are delighted.

Don't be too scared (hard, though) as it is possible to get pregnant, stay pregnant and have a healthy LO at 44!

best wishes

Thanks Sabrinakat!!
I remember you getting your bfp actually!!!
Bless you, you always pop in for inspiration for us older ladies.
I am just hoping and praying that this doesnt end in mc, as my last pregnancy a year ago did. It was particularly distressing as I had never had a mc before and did not imagine for one minute it would be as bad as it was, and its that thats making me jittery.
Lovely to hear from you!!

I understand completely....I was nervous all the way through the pregnancy and was convinced before every scan (we went private and had scans at every appointment) that I had lost LO. It was balanced with a sense of serenity when I passed milestones (past the mc (when I had mc'ed before) stage, past the 12wks, past 24 wks, etc) and am so grateful that he arrived safe and sound.

Just take it one day at a time (easier said than done) and I wish you a safe journey. and never apologise about worrying -- a mc is a horrible thing to happen, but it makes it that much sweeter when we do get our rainbow in the end.

hugs

This is my first baby and I'm due on March 25th. Everything has been just fine so far. I'm still worried and I guess I will be for years lol:flower:
