Is anyone a Hindu?

My family are, and although i follow some of the traditions and beliefs im not overly religious. Iygwim. But feel free to ask anything, ill do my best to answer.

Thank you! My assignment is actually on Hindu women and dalits and how Hinduism helps and hinders equality for both groups. I was just wondering what your personal opinion, as a woman, is about it? Do you feel that Hinduism is as a religion a hinderance to gender equality or is in in fact empowering to women in some ways?
