Hello Ladies

I have now heard from Spain that my donor has been found and they are going to retrieve her eggs next week on Monday. They will then let me know the next day if its been successful and if I can travel to have the egg donation later in the week!! I am so excited but have so many queries and I am slightly scared as well. Has anyone else already had this treatment. As my periods finally stopped in September 2010  I had to start a course of cycloprogynova to bring on a false period. Then when that happened I have been on a course of progynova - started off with 2 mg a day but that is now up to 6 mg a day. I have 3 months supply of them plus have now been told to pick up a course of cyclogest as well. Has anyone else had to take these - are they painful??

I have not been able to think of anything else and I know i wont sleep at all until I have good news. Unfortunately, my OH cannot travel with me to Spain next week because of work so I will be on my own which I am finding really daunting.

Any advice on how I can keep calm is really welcome xxx

hi i cant offer you any advice but want to wish you the best of luck x

Well hun, i'm on the other end. I'm just beginning the process of donating my eggs. Sounds like they do the process very differently here though. Through my clinic in the states they sync my cycle with that of the recipient and treat it like a fresh IVF cycle only they would get the eggs from me. If that made sense.

I can understand your being nervous. Especially since OH can't accompany you to Spain. It will all be fine, i'm sure of it!

I have donated my eggs here in the UK and like someone else mentioned we did sync are cycles at the same time and the lady I donated to had her embroys inplanted the same day i did however we didnt meet etc as thats the rules here in the UK.

Wanting to send you lots of luck hun x

Thank you so much for all your replies - its lovely to hear from you. This forum has been my only outlet for getting my thoughts out as we have decided to keep this all a secret from our family and friends - guess we didn't want the added pressure of everyone asking us what is happening all the time.

I think you are both amazing for donating your own eggs - what a fantastic gift you are giving to someone else. Egg donation is my only option now and to think that someone out there has gone through this procedure to help me absolutely makes me feel so humble and grateful and as I will never know who she is, I can't even thank her. It truly is fantastic.:flower:

My donor is having her eggs retrieved next week, which will then be mixed with my OH's sperm (not sure of the correct terms here!). I will be kept informed of progress by the clinic on the phone. Then the next day the clinic will phone me to let me know if it has been a success [-o<

I know I won't be able to do a thing or think of anything else until I get the call and if everything is ok I will then have the eggs implanted the next day.

Its all happening so quickly now. I keep thinking ahead to 9 months time and I know I shouldnt but I can't help it.

Thank you all again xxxx
