Hello Everyone

I was just wandering if anyone is in the same boat as me and my husband, we have been TTC for over 6 years now and been refused IVF/ICSI....I am now at a point where I feel like I am never going to be a mother and time is getting on, even though I am only 26 years old and my husband is 29 years old. The problem lies with my husband as he has a sperm count of 1 million per m/l, which is very low but everything else is normal. We have a 5% chance of conceiving naturally given by the doctors, but we don't know what to do now?

Is there any changes we can take to try and boost my husband's sperm count?

I know there is other people in the same boat as us, but would like to know if they have had a miracle baby from doing slight changes etc....without all the medical intervention.

Thanks x

Have you been to a urologist? Is there anyway you can pay for an IVF on your own? We are taking out a loan for one in September. My husband has low sperm count, we went to a urologist and it turns out he has a vein that is causing problems. He can have a surgery, but it can take up to 9 months to work. I have no patience for that, so we are doing IVF. If it works, he will get the surgery for child #2

Simplicity, my dh and I are in a different situ, but also refused ivf/iui and are saving for it ourselves but as I'm 40 our time and chances are limited by time. You are a little more fortunate as you have much more time to save for icsi.

My dh gave up alcohol completely, takes 100mg of coenzyme q10 and took Wellman conception for about 6 months, bit now taking cheaper sanatogen father-to-be. His SA has improved with this. But with your oh icsi would mean you wouldn't need to worry about amount.

Sorry you've started feeling a bit hopeless, hope you can find some inspiration (or a lottery win) soon xxx

Hi! I'm Anna. My husband and I have been TTC since May 2010 as well. We had a MC last month and jumped right back on the TTC train. I didn't want to pop in here without introducing myself because I have been posting in TTC lately and this is my first time over here in LTTTC. I found these sites that may help you out! I hope they do atleast

Thank you ladies for your kind comments.

I am from Nottinghamshire in England. We are in the process of saving money for treatment to go private, but we can only afford to put £200 a month away as we have just taken other things out on finance in which I do not want to take a loan out just in case one of us loses our jobs, you never know in this climate.

I also need to loose some weight before they will do the ICSI as I am over the NHS guidelines and properly the private ones as well, but that is coming off slowly at the moment. I am just so desperate now for a baby as I seen loads of people around me have them and always think to myself why can't that be me!

Will I ever be a mother? I hope so!

X

We haven't been to a urologist...we was so upset from being refused for the IVF that we feel like our NHS system has let us down and we haven't even been given any support in anyway. Even though my doctor is very good and she has been trying to fight for us to get given the IVF, but it's not up to her is it.

His DNA structure has been tested and everything is normal, no abnormal DNA structure and also been tested for glands etc... everything is normal, they cannot find a reason why he has low sperm count, it's a puzzle lol

Good luck with your IVF x

I tried to show you some links to help you out. oh well! can't help em all can ya ;) back over to TTC it is

:dust:

why were you refused ivf?

hubby and I have both just tuned 27.
he had a count of less than 1 million back in sept.
he was taking some multi vitamins but not all the time as hes useless with remembering stuff like that.
we were refered for ivf and all of a sudden his count kept going up.
i think its the stress of thinking oh god were trying for a baby its not happening what if i have a problem. its easy to say but both try and de stress but taking mulit vits and change your diet.
no smoking, drinking etc lots of veg, greens for him and hopefully the count will slowly go up.

did you know you can get free ivf?
if you agree to share some eggs with another couple.
the collect them from you, fertlise so many from your hubbys sperm and donate the other half to someone else.
if your eggs result in a live baby then you will be told and depending if the parents tell the child they are the result of the egg share, when that child is 18 the hospital can give your name out and they can try and find you. that is all the ifs and buts of it. but so amazing thats its free and you can help another couple out too. there crying out for sharers as not many people do it in this country and it makes couples have to go abroad.

just something to think about x
cheaper abroad too, a frend went to cyprus and said it was lovely x
