I have been afraid to mow (pushmower and riding mower) and weedwack because of the noise and vibrations. Is anyone else doing the outdoor chores ok, and did you ask the doc (and if so, what did they say?). I hate not being able to help out with the yardwork, we have a lot of it here, but I'm afraid it may be harmful to baby.

I read somewhere about noise being okay up to a certain decibal, but I have no idea what decibals my mower, etc. would be anyway!

I've been using the riding lawnmower and the weedeater. I asked my midwife if I could, and she said it would not be an issue with a normal, low risk pregnancy.

im mowing. i like giving baby the extra noise stimulus :) our mower doesnt vibrate but if it did i dont think it would harm baby. probably just make him shuffle about a bit. one of my tickers said now is the time his hearing is developed that he will learn about environmrntal noises such as hoover, dog barking, shouting etc. may aswell get him used to these sounds before he is born so that they arent a big scary suprise to him after is my thoughts :)

I have never had to do it, my dad always did it when I was little. And OH likes to do the yard work now. I think pregnancy is a perfect excuse not to do it! :haha:

I have heard a couple times that vaccumming is too hard on a pregnant woman because of moving things and with the different posture you have to use. Not that I have stopped doing it, but I would imagine using a push mower might have the same affect? I think if you feel ok doing it and dont feel any different its fine. My midwife said that most women can continue with the same activity prior to pregnancy but just need to be more aware of their bodies. :flower:

I doubt it will have any effect, i have just had a second floor extension completed which involved the builder knocking through a foot of stone to make the doorways to the new build.
That was very loud, and went on for 2 days, and my baby is fine, she kicked a few times when it was going on, but that was it, and to be honest it never really occurred to me.
