Hi

After missing my periods for about 7 days, I took a test last tuesday. The line was faint but still there was a line. My breasts were very swollen and very sensitive. On thursday evening I had some spotting once and I had some period like pains . The pain did not worry me as I had them for ages when I was pregnant with Thomas. I went to see the gp on friday morning. He took another test and the line was very very faint. He told me there is a chance of me having a miscarriage and to come back on monday, that the test will probably be negative. Anyway, today I took another test and the line appeared but hardly visble. My breasts are less swollen but after intercourse with my partner I started spotting again, this time the blood was fresh and a bit more important. I did not bleed any further but tonight I am spotting again but it is much darker and each time i wipe there is a light taint on the paper, sorry for TMI. Apart from period like pains I have not sharp pain or anything like that.

Did any of you experienced the same thing? Is it a miscarriage? If on monday at the doc the line is still very faint shall I ask to have a scan or a blood test? He just told me to wait and see but it is stressful to do that.

Thanks

N.

I am so sorry you are going through that! But it realy could go eather way! I had my period for the first 4 months i was prego with my son, but then again I had the same thing with my MC. It is realy hard to say but make sure you stay calm as you can and drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest!! When you go back to the doc you should definatly order a blood work up and go from that to see if you need a scan. The best of luck to you, ill keep you in my prayers! hugs

So sorry you are going through this:hugs:. I have had two previous successful pregnancies with no bleeding and no cramping. But my past two pregnancies ended very early on:cry:. I too had faint positives that became more faint only to eventually be negative all together. Unfortunately, your scenario sounds very familiar to mine. I started spotting off and on for a few days, and then wipe by wipe, day by day it seemed to pick up until it was a full blown :witch:. With my first, the cramps were excrutiating and the miscarriage was horribly painful- both emotionally and physically, but with my last one, I started bleeding right when :witch: was due, so I probably never would have know if I hadn't tested.

From what I have read, chemical pregnancies are very common, but with today's technology we know about them early on only to be broken-hearted later.

Good luck though Hun, I hope your story turns out different than mine. I have been told stories by so many different woman about bleeding during a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

:dust:

Hi,

I really hope that everything turns out well for you. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
It does sound a lot like what happened to me (I miscarried 2 weeks after I started spotting though), but I have read and have known so many women who can experience this and go on to carry a healthy baby. Unfortunately, there is just no way to know yet.
Best of luck,
Cat

Thanks for your replies :)

I went to the gp this morning and the test was positive, line darker than ever but still faint. She phoned to have a scan done but the early pregnancy unit said there was no point in doing that. So instead i had a blood test and another one will be done on wednesday to see if my HCG are increasing. I am still bleeding like an end of periods and still have the mild cramping.
However, yesterday I had some pain in the left shoulder, not really pain but like when you strained a muscle. I did not tell the gp but this afternoon it came back. I have read this could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy but I don't want to start being hypercondriac and think the worse each time I have a bit of pain. What do you think?

Oh, I do hope that everything goes well for you. I am happy to hear about the :bfp: :happydance:. Try not to worry about the shoulder pain, just take one day at a time. Keep us updated.

:hugs:
