Is it my period?

It looks just like my afterbirth bleeding but that stopped 3 weeks ago. I have a few cramps but nothing like my AF used to be? Could I have stopped bleeding then started again?

I thought mine had started when Sam was 6 weeks old, but I've had nothing since then (12 weeks ago) so I'm still not sure if it was or not. I didn't have bad cramps or anything either (I realise that this probably doesn't help you at all! Sorry ) x

So it's probably not then? It was brown to start with and is now red. It doesn't seem like a period atall. Hope it is though.. Want to get back to normality!

I'm not sure...that's why I realised I was being no help at all! I thought mine seemed quite normal and it sounded just like yours. It was the week that I took sam for his checks at the doctors and she said some people start straight away and some take months (especially if you're breastfeeding), and that hers came back as soon as each of her kids started sleeping through the night (when she wasn't feeding them every couple of hours any more).

I want to be back to normal too! I know some people don't have one for months after they stop breastfeeding though - but I want to know that everything is ok (so I can have more kids ) x

I also started spotting / bleeding a bit this week. Had my 6 week check up on Thursday and my doc said its just because I've stopped breast feeding. Its apparently normal to spot a bit when you stop breast feeding and she reckons I'll get my period within the next week.
