Hey, so I'm 4 weeks 2 days pregnant and went swimming today with my boyfriend. We went into the jacuzzi cause we were freezing in the pool! But anyway I felt quite sick when I was in the jacuzzi and I was never like that before I was pregnant :/
So I got a bit worried. Is it okay for me to go in the jacuzzi while pregnant or is it best for me to leave the jacuzzi out until baby is born? xx

I don't think you are suppose to go inside a hot jacuzzi (or even a bath tub) in early pregnancy, but I could be wrong?

You just have to be careful of your temp spiking and staying up. Short baths and short dips in a hot tub are perfectly fine. Baths are fine since the water starts to cool after about 15 minutes. But with hot tubs, since its a constant heat, make sure to take breaks every 15 minutes or so.

At any point in pregnancy high heats are bad it can not only cause cell generations but can also cause brain damage or death its like giving your baby a very high fever and is a big nono to stick more then your feet in.

I was in it for about 15-20 minutes, I'm glad I wasn't in any longer. Will baby still be okay now though? x

You should be okay. You probably just felt ill because your temp spiked a bit. Just keep things like that to a minimum.

OMG are you not suppose to have hot baths?i always have them and for about 15mins!I hoe i havent caused any probs am already worried enough!!!

I know its scary finding out I shouldn't have, I'm a bit paranoid now :( Just hope it didn't do any harm x

Also you should know that your baby has no way to sweat inside your womb...hence why they tell you to stay away from hot tubs and hot baths. They have no way to release the heat.

I'm sure an "oops" isn't going to cause your baby any harm. I'm sure you are fine. I hate showers and just love nice almost scalding hot warm baths...and being without them now for two weeks has been harsh. :( We have to be so extra careful with everything we do and give up so much but it's so worth it in the end.

H&H 9 months to you.

i didnt know you weren't allowed baths???? Is it ok after so long into pregnancy?

You can have a bath, just lukewarm. Normally the water cools and it's okay, but just to play it safe I'd stick with lukewarm for the jist of it.

ok, i also have to have the window open and the water not as hot anymore

My doctor told me no more then 98degrees f if you have it at that temp you dont have to worry i use a thermometer that way im not cooking nothing.

My doc has always told me to steer clear of saunas/hot tubs, but that in reality, your core temp has to raise about 102 to harm the baby, and most women will get out instinctively anyway before they get that hot. But its still not a good idea. I am sure your baby is fine, however.

Hot baths at home are just fine! Again, its not the temp of the water, but your temp. Your entire body is not submurged, so its rare to overheat. I take hot baths all the time. Just make sure the water isn't scalding, and that the room has air flow so the whole room doesn't heat up.

When I worked in a gym we were told not to let pregnant ladies in the jacuzzi, sauna or steam room. Yes it is harnfull but I'm sure a one of 15 minute dip wouldn't do any harm. You have to be careful of your body temp rising when pregnant. How women carry babies in the Maldives I'll never know, it's so bloomin hot lol
